Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner for Dry and Combination Skin, Alcohol-Free Facial Toner for Aging Skin, Formulated with Exfoliating Glycolic Acid & Antioxidant Grapefruit Extract

I have an oily t-zone, combination skin, and was searching for a toner that would help my scars, blackheads, as well as getting my skin extra clean. I don't break out too much on my forehead, mostly my chin, and more recently it's been my nose. I stumbled along Mario Badescu, and could not be happier with this toner. I've gone through one full bottle of the 8oz, and I purchased it in November of 2011, and now it's the middle of December, 2012. I'd say that's good longevity for everyday, morning and night use. However, one -important- hint: Do not use a cotton ball to put the product on and then wipe your face, nix the cotton ball altogether and put a small dot of the liquid on your fingers- it's tricky to get it the first time to only come out a bead at a time, but just lean the 'squirter' on to your fingers and tip just a little ways. (It's water consistency, and will not be blue on your face.) Then take your *clean* hands and wipe your face with it. I guarantee you, this works, and I wished I had done it this way since I got the product; I used up almost half the bottle in probably only two months using the cotton ball method in the beginning. I use the Glycolic Acid Toner by washing my face night/day (I use a sulfur soap) and then pat dry. With my clean hands, I gently wipe the toner pretty much everywhere, adding more to my fingers and wiping down any areas I feel need it. Let dry. My face turns red using this, but that's just simple blood circulation and the 'harshness' of pushing/rubbing on my skin.(I'm beginning to diagnose myself as sensitive.) I also used to only use it in the night, but after I felt like my skin kinda needed it in the morning. I've noticed my skin "craving" this more in the winter- I feel like it's a good way to exfoliate the dead winter dryness. However, it SAVED my skin when I went from the Utah climate to Houston in the summer- I was breaking out, and couldn't leave little zits everywhere, so after I popped them, I used this- it dries it up, and burns anything that's open a little, but it helps with scars and probably disinfects some. I wouldn't say that it helps greatly with blackheads, but I'm guessing if you have 'first stage' blackheads it'll probably help: mine are about at the stage 'embedded in my skin for eternity.' :D I do think it helps with scars, it just takes time. It speeds the regular process up, I'd say, though. The first time you use this, you'll probably notice tingling, but after regular use this goes away. This gives my skin a great glow, and it does not break me out, (oily, combo, redness, zits on chin and nose, blackheads on nose.) Does not dry out my skin, even in the winter. I'm 16, for more info. I purchased just recently the 16 oz size, and I've noticed in a year: The ingredients are the same, but it seems like this 'fresher batch' made more immediate improvement- maybe it would be a better idea to by the smaller size? Like the ingredients become expired? (No expiration date that I've found.) And also, the only thing on the label that's changed is it says not to use on breakout-erupted skin. I wouldn't say my acne is severe, more slightly moderate. I have no problem with this toner. I love it! Bottom line: Buy if you want fresh, clean skin, to reduce acne scarring, help early blackheads, with a nice clean glow and mild exfoliation.

As a 42-year-old man, I’ve made the Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner a staple in my skincare routine for at least two to three years. I briefly paused using it due to other medical treatments but seamlessly picked up where I left off. This toner has noticeably reduced the appearance of my large pores over time, improving my skin’s texture. It’s gentle, doesn’t burn my skin, and has a subtle, pleasant scent that isn’t overpowering. Unlike some toners, it’s not drying, which I appreciate. I plan to continue using this product as long as it’s available or until the formula changes. Highly recommend!

I've used this a few years ago, and it was way too harsh for my sensitive skin. I'm not sure what changed, but it isn't so harsh now. I spent a lot of the summer in the sun, and I noticed damage to my chest and face. I also noticed more enlarged pores, more blackheads, and discoloration, not to mention a dull appearance. My usual exfoliation methods didn't really do enough. I decided to try this again. Wow! I'm glad I did! My skin looks smoother and fresher, I don't see the discoloration so much anymore, the pores on my nose look smaller, and the blackheads have diminished. I have also used it on my chest where I have always gotten so much sun since I was in my 20s (despite high spfs). It's not perfect, but there is a very noticeable difference to me. It no longer looks so red, scaley and dry. I've also noticed a brown spot starting to fade on both my chest and face. My skin is sensitive, and it flushes easily, so I limit the amount of time per week when I start to feel a mild tingling during the day between uses, and I only use it ar night. So far, so good!

I love this toner and have used it regularly for over a year. I put it on morning and night after washing my face. I apply it with my hands, like a man would put on aftershave lotion, not with a cotton pad. It’s refreshing and my skin looks bright and healthy. Mario Badescu makes nice products and I use a few of them.

Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner has a delightful scent and is mild enough for everyday use. Immediately, I noticed a smoother, fresher complexion and a more exfoliated appearance to my skin with no redness. I have been using this product for several weeks now and have received compliments on my skin. My current routine is to wash with a mild skin cleanser, M.B. toner, a Vitamin C serum, and moisturizer. The makeup application looks flawless and finished thanks to the M.B. toner.

While I like the idea of toners, most have left my skin dry and tight. A sample of the Mario Badescu toner was included in a sample luxury beauty box I purchased. The feel of the toner on my skin was immediately soothing. I didn't have to use much, don't soak the cotton puff, just a little went a long way. There was no tightness, no residue feeling, just a fresh and clean canvas to put my moisturizer and skin care products on. I've been using this for several weeks and am noticing a brighter look to my face. There is no weird scent or perfume, and 8 oz of toner lasts a good while. I'm very happy with this and glad I got a chance to sample it, since I had given up on using toners and now I use this daily.

as far as glycolic acid products go- this was pretty gentle. I have mild rosacea and hormonal acne (that is under control with dermatologist regimen) and this didn’t aggravate it BUT I would not repurchase. 1) the intense color is a little too unnatural for me 2) when using every day , it definitely caused some flaky skin around my temples, forehead and eyebrows- spaced out was okay 3) pretty sure it left a nasty film on my skin. Toning is my first step after washing and it wasn’t until I used this toner that my other products started pilling when I rubbed my face. Like a gross glue film that just rubs off. So weird. I was only using it at night and none of the products have pilled previously. I actually thought it was lint from new towels (first wash debunked that theory) 4) Black heads seem worse. Not terrible- just more than I normally see. (If it was pilling I’m not shocked I guess) -I recommend any basic toner or Paula’s Choice Resist toner- it feels milky and amazing and soothing. -I do like MB glycolic enzyme gel cleanser- great price and great for a first wash to get make up off before a second wash (if you’re into that) - also great when you feel lazy about washing your face. Suuuch a good price and pretty refreshing. - For exfoliating- radiance pads by First Aid Beauty. Definitely not as great for your wallet but I think they work really well and doesn’t feel like you actually put anything on your face - pretty refreshing and non irritating. Worked better for brightness and evening out skin tone and the pads them selves feel a little scrubby (like old school stridex pads)

I have always used a Lancôme toner. I was recommended this by a friend who studies beauty products. It is so gentle on the skin but also really effective. I have now been using this after cleansing twice a day for over two months and my skin looks fresh and feels so clean and vitalised! I am so impressed with this product! I went to wear makeup for the first time in 4 weeks during this lock down and it was awful covering up my skin!! My skin looked so much better without makeup!! So I removed it straight away! On another plus side....... this toner goes such a long way.... I am not even half way through the bottle!! Very good value for money!
