It's a rugged latch plate. Pretty easy to install and shuts the door tight. The original that it replaced was over 30 years old so getting another of the same brand was a no brainer.

Saved my deposit.
My previous apartment wasn't built very well, and the bedroom door couldn't close all the way with the previous corner strike. I ended up taking off the previous one because it was bent and losing it. Bought this because it was cheaper than Lowes and home depot plus I qualified for 1 day shipping which was very convenient. Installed it and got my full deposit back. It actually was built better than the original installed piece.
