Works and needed...
As the previous reviewer mentioned, you can place your Eli Quadra standard reflector into the 24x24 Lastolite Ezybox. It will work without the need of this adapter in a pinch. If you're buying for a new Lastolite strip box or Octa buy the Lastolite Elinchrom kit versions for either and avoid this purchase altogether unless you need an extra adapter. This would be for retro fitting a previously purchased 24x24 Ezybox with a Eli Quadra head. Two problems with using the Eli Quadra standard reflector as a mount... first, when you kludge the head mounting this way, the fitting is less than ideal and kinda sloppy i.e. considerable play, will move in the breeze and could possibly break free. The Lastolite adapter fits snugly and is very secure, I use mine on a boom where I don't/can't allow a box to fall and crash onto a client. It also fits tightly enough that I suspect if a drop did occur, any concern of the bulb breaking would be minor unless it was a catastrophic drop... at that point you're going to have way more to worry about than a $100 bulb replacement. Second and probably the most important aspect of this adapter, it places the bulb INSIDE the box (not the entire head, just the bulb). Using the standard Eli Quadra reflector as the connection point puts the bulb behind the material by an inch or so and cuts the light by 1/3 to 1/5 stop. I checked this by meter. If you have the 24x24 Lastolite Ezybox and want to use your Eli Quadra with it, this is the way to go. The Quadra / 24x24 Ezybox combo produces great light and easy location set-up. Bottom line... you just spent $2400+ on the Quadra set why cheat yourself with a less than secure mount and full power light when using the Ezybox?Oh... BTW, this adapter is one of the few options commercially available that can be used to modify/mate non-Elinchrom or Elinchrom speedrings to the Quadra heads securely... thick, well built aluminum mounting that can be machined with home tools. You can then avoid the cheesy Ranger Quadra Reflector Adapter for EL Reflectors (EL 26339) and fabricate a much more solid mount.

Works but not needed
This works great but really it's not needed, if you have an Elinchron Qudra with the reflector that it comes with, the reflector will fit inside the lips of the softbox nicely and if the softbox were to fall off the reflector it will protect the flash tube. The Lasolite adapter ring sits flush with the flash tube--if the softbox were to fall off with the Lasolite adapter it could easily break the flash tube.

Really risky to use. Flash Tube left exposed. Doesnt work right with Ezybox 30" Hotshoe.
I bought this from Adorama.com and its not worth it.Its usually gets jammed, and its really hard to pull out. Also, the flash tube its left exposed and you can brake it if used in a hurry. The flashtube itself cost about 110$ so, its better to buy an elinchrom softbox insted.Doesnt fit right in my Ezzybox 30" Hotshoe. And the softbox itself its to heavy for the Ranger Quadra bracket head.
