Will a 1000 watt generator power this charger without damaging it?

a generator listed as 1000 watt actually runs at a much lower production rate, more like 700 watts or so probably. always best to NOT stretch the generator, let it do the job easily rather than barely. electrical elements like this charger tend to have a SHORT life if voltage fluctuates/the juice gets thin. probably contact Iota tech support, their people are REALLY good, bright and helpful. batteries are expensive, most of the time even more than the generator and charger, so support your batteries for best cost-effective function

Is the unit equipped with replacable fuses to protect it?

This unit does come equipped with two 30A fuses

Does this unit include the IQ4?

This unit (at least the 55A version) does not come with the IQ4 charger. I just purchased it and had to get the IQ4 smart controller separate. The loop back cord the other answer was talking about was so you can quick charge at 14.2v instead of the normal 13.6v

With a 270ah agm and 30a service which is often adapted down to 15a service, how do i know which size converter/charger to get?
