Great for all ages
I love this so much and so do my kids I have kids ranging from 5 to 11 years old and they all wanted to dig and find fossils! It kept kids engaged and entertained for quiet a while. With the help of all kids they were able to dig up 1 box in about 1 hour. There was only enough "tools" for one person but no worries because the tools it came with was the same plastic as the dollar store skinny paint brushes and I have a million of those at home so each of my kids started digging with those paint brushes and they all loved it. Its messy but thats the point for kids to feel like they are real archaeologist so that was not a problem for me. We still have 2 more boxes to dig but they are great sizes for kids. Would highly recommend.

Great gift!
Bought this gift for my 6yr old son. He absolutely loved it! Can be messy, I would say buy some safety glasses for them when chipping away at the material. Assembly of the fossils did require adult assistance, but the excitement on my sons face while he got to dig for fossils was priceless. I would recommend this product. Side note, it can take a while to dig through.

Fun and exciting for dinosaur loving kids - of a certain age/ability
This is actually pretty cool! All the bones are separated within the "fossil" and you have to dig them out individually and then put them together to form the dinosaur skeleton. The concept is great and in the end, it worked out pretty well with a few hiccups. First of all, the tools included in the toy are basically useless. You need to have some of your own things to dig these bones out or you'll be there for DAYS. Next, it is quite messy, but I read the other reviews and we did this outside on a surface that could be rolled up and thrown away (I suggest opening up a large garbage bag and taping it down on your surface to be rolled up & thrown away when you're done). Finally, this takes a child of a certain age/determination/skill level. My nephew is 5 and he needed a lot of help to dig out the bones. And there was also no way he could put this together himself, which is yet another problem as it doesn't come with proper instructions to put the skeleton together, you have to sort of read the box and figure it out from a very small, not very detailed picture. Still, it's cool and I would recommend it with the above knowledge.

Kept my 5yo busy for almost 2 hrs
I bought this at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic stay at home orders because I knew I needed stuff to keep my 5YO busy. There were many choices out there and I ultimately went with this one for a couple reasons: - 3-pack - good reviews - in addition to excavating, it needed assembling - bang for your buck Based on reviews, I made sure my son did the digging outside as it does make quite a mess. Wearing a mask helps altho the one that it came with was way too big for my 5YO son. I also purchased a small hammer for him use with the chisel and a small spray bottle to spray down the kit so it wasn't nearly as dusty as it could've been. Below is a complete list of tips I gathered from multiple reviews: 1. Do outside in a patio or garage, it gets MESSY and dusty. If you can't, at least line your floor with something to collect all the dust and dirt that comes from it. 2. Prepare a small hammer for child to chisel with (given they are old enough, my son is 5 and handled it nicely without supervision). The kit only comes with one plastic chisel which would have taken him exponentially longer and I suspect he would've lost interest quickly 3. Small water spray bottle. Spray the kit down so it's less dusty 4. Small bowl of water, old toothbrush and toothpick to clean off the dinosaur pieces that he excavates. There is a little plastic brush that it comes with but doesn't do much. 5. Don't throw away the little paper that it comes with that shows the different dinosaurs you might be able to get. As it does not come with assembly directions, you might need to help your child assemble the actual dinosaur. While it was frustrating, it was nice as it allowed my son to 'identify' based on the pieces that he had to which dinosaur he excavated :) nice teachable moment! Happy excavating and buying yourself some free ME time! ;)

Great gift!
Purchased 3-pk for grandkids 8, 10 and 12 yrs old. This digging event goes on after Christmas dinner out in the garage. They loved it. They love excavating these little bones. It is a couple of hours depending on the age of peace and calmness. The dinosaurs are actual a pretty good size. I will purchase again.

Fun to dig
Bought these for a birthday party activity. They took some time! The boys loved finding bones and working on slowly chipping away the chalk. Heads up! These are messy. The chalk that comes off is very dusty. Definitely an outside activity. Mess isnโt why only 3 stars. -2โญ๏ธ for trying to put the bones together afterwards. I understand general bone structure of a dinosaur and what it should have looked like; but I swear we were not given enough bone pieces or the wrong ones. Not a one of the bone structures we dug up were able to be put together as a full skeletal structure.

Not a quick activity
I got these for my cub scouts in my Den as part of their elective adventures. They loved it, it was messy, it was fun, and it kept them busy. However as a mom myself, I should of known problems would arise from the time constraints of out meeting. As the time got closer to the end and kids only got a few pieces out, they started to bang and do whatever they could to get the bones out. Some pieces broke, along with my patience. But really the kids had fun. They loved the tattoos that came with it.

Awesome Dinosaur Kits (3 in 1)
Our granddaughter absolutely loved this dinosaur kit. She really enjoyed digging to find the dinosaur bones, and then she had fun building each model. I liked how there were 3 different kits, so she can start becoming familiar with the different dinosaurs.
