It's as basic as can be, and I like it. I purchased this phone to use specifically as my "travel phone." And I don't just mean to use for calls while traveling internationally, which it works for (at least across South America), but also to use as a clock/alarm/watch while walking alone in unknown areas of unknown cities. That is because things like a nice wrist watch or decent looking smartphone can quickly make you a target to be mugged/robbed. But, say you're walking in an unknown city and you think two guys maybe have been walking behind you a little longer than you feel comfortable, with this phone you don't even need to fake a phone call to someone (like the police), you just need to take it out of your pocket so it is easy for everyone to see... Once any potential robbers/muggers see this phone, they will quickly lose interest and move on to better targets (why would they rob someone with a worse phone then they have). I've done this at least 3 times where the people who were walking behind me quickly went another way after seeing the phone. Very effective deterrent in my experience, and little did they know that I often had a real smartphone in a different pocket (similar concept to keeping a little money in one pocket, and more stashed elsewhere).On top of all that, the phone is very sturdy. Despite being seemingly made of basic plastic, it has lasted numerous drops and falls, and has worked in hot and humid environments at sea level as well as dry and cold environments at altitude.

You don't get what you pay for... this phone is just horrible.Yes... a $15 phone... I expected junk.But the Lynx phone brings junk to a new level.The first issue is "how do you turn it on?" No explicit power button. I spent 10 minutes pressing and holding each button. No help from the "instructions."Next... how do you make a call? It's very confusing to try to call a contact. It requires way, way, way too many keypresses.And the phone locks after 15 seconds. Cool. Sadly the unlock process is "press the wrong button to wake the screen, press the exit button to exit from the 'to unlock the phone, press unlock then *', then press unlock then press *." It's like the developer was handed a set of specs and wrote the code to the specs in a way that is most obnoxious to the end user.I'm not expecting an iPhone. But I was hoping for something Nokia circa 1997. But what this phone is is the most infuriating piece of junk ever.Oh... and you *HAVE* to put an SD card in to read text messages. No error message other than trying to open a text and getting a "working..." screen.Spend $5 more and get a phone that's not the worst UI, EVER.

The user interface is very simple and easy to understand. The phone is light and not cumbersome in comparison to the smartphone that I previously used. When using the flashlight the light is bright enough to use in dark areas. After using the FM radio, I was surprised primarily because it picked up of the radio station channels. As for features, it does not have much but in this case, it has some internet capability and Bluetooth. However, I have not tested those out. The camera is simple but not like the smart phone or iPod Touch quality.What I do not like about it:• It only has one wallpaper• It only has one ringtoneIn summary: The LYNXX-X2S cell phone is very basic. It has the necessary features that most would need. If you just need a phone that can call and text then this would be your phone. Remember that this is NOT a smart phone. If you need a smart phone go elsewhere!

Got me through a study abroad in Brazil and back. It even served as a makeshift light for a hike back. Durability nearly rivals the brick, and the double sim card is quite useful. Never once used the headphones, just tossed them. Good battery life, went days <-- plural without a charge multiple times. Obviously I didn't call much during those days, but it still worked, and kept me away from being a target for theft. Definitely going to use it on my next long term trip.You have to delete the old texts though, and there's not a quick process for it. Kind of a pain in the ass actually, because the texts just never reach you if your mailbox is full. It's as if they weren't sent, so stay on top of that for sure.

All features look good on paper, but... Voice quality is so bad that I am going to return it. We placed AT&T SIM in and it works. And that's the only good thing about it.

The quality of the sound, when you are talking, is really bad.You need to be in almost complete silence to stand a chance to figure out what's going on on the other side.

This phone, in my opinion, is FANTASTIC for the price. Bought it to use while out of the country & it worked GREAT!! And it has so many other special features. WELL worth the price!!!
