I used it on ceramic and metal without baking it.
I live in a small apartment with very little work space and I needed something non toxic that would dry quickly so I could use my kitchen on the same day. It wasn't easy to find a paint that would work on an antique Victorian ceramic coat hook. It was a gift and it was white. Not a fan of white things outside of the bathroom. I decided to try Pebeo Vitrea in purple because I read the reviews and a lot of folks use it for ceramic projects. One little bottle was enough for two coats on the rather large hook. I used a craft sponge and I didn't bake it because I'm quite lazy and impatient as well. I wanted to hang up the hook and start using it right away. It dried completely in a couple of hours and it's been used daily in a heavy traffic area with no chipping. It's not the smoothest of surfaces but maybe baking it would change that, I dunno. I like it the way it is. It's a lovely dark purple. I decided to try it once more on a pair of ornate old decorative iron gate panels, not the outdoor kind but something that was made for defining an indoor space, about 38" x 17". I wanted to attach the panels to a basket and a wooden base so I could put it in the foyer to drop the mail in and hang my umbrella on, stash my bag and such. They were cream colored and had a lot of chips, but I like the shabby chic look of them and I didn't want to change that. I used turquoise Pebeo Vitrea that I applied with a sponge in two coats. I used almost two bottles because there was a lot of surface area due to the ornate curls within the panels. I got two coats for each panel from those little bottles. It went on easily and with no fumes or nasty smells, and it dried very quickly. I couldn't have fit these things into my oven if I wanted to, so that's that. They kept the vintage look and I was able to complete the project on the same day. The color was a bit darker than I expected, sort of a dark teal to sea green color and even darker where the old paint was chipped. Beautiful! It feels like the surface will stay true, but even if it chips off it won't be a big deal to repair it with another little dab from the leftovers in the bottom of the bottle. I may try to use this product as directed one day. It's been a lot of fun doing it wrong.

I was pretty impressed with the paint and it was very easy ...
I first purchased some of the gloss glass paint and the outliner tubes to decorate wine glasses for a project. I was pretty impressed with the paint and it was very easy to use. I painted 5-point flower petals in a different color for each bridesmaid, and used the outliners to paint their names in a script font. Making mistakes with this paint is OKAY! A huge mistake wipes off easily with rubbing alcohol to start fresh, and I recommend doing it this way until you get familiar with the paint. A small mistake can be easily fixed by first letting it air dry for an hour or two. I was able to take a wood toothpick and clean up lines or mistakes and the paint didn't CHIP off, but allowed me to work with it and reveal the glass underneath with no problem. You can actually scrape the paint off at any point before it's oven-cured. The colors are really pretty. The frosted versions are much more opaque than the gloss versions which are a bit more transparent than you would expect. The absolute BEST thing about this glass paint and the main reason I am writing this review and gave it 5 stars: I use my own painted wine glass atleast once a week and it goes right in the dishwasher. I've had it for about 2 years now, and it still looks PERFECT. The longevity of this paint when cured correctly (follow the instructions on the bottle) is simply amazing. I've painted other wine glasses for gifts since my first attempt and I'm very sad that Michael's no longer sells this brand. (Michael's now sells Martha Stewart glass paint and every review I read says that you can scratch that right off with your nail even after curing! EEK!) I would have to try really hard, with a razor blade, to scratch the Pebeo Vitrea paint from my glasses. I'll be buying some more Pebeo Vitrea paint from Amazon to make some more gifts. :)

These paints are nice, but streaky
These paints are nice, but streaky. At little goes a long way, so it's perfect for experiments. Definitely let the coats dry in between applications. I also purchased the liquid thinner from Vitrea and found that while it did make the paint less streaky, the more applications that you present the worse it gets. I wanted to experiment with glass jars from my kitchen before I messed up a nice vase. I painted the inside of the jar with the Vitrea paints (a thin layer) and baked as directed. After, I added some strontium alluminate to a clear gloss and applied to the bottom of the jar. Strontium Alluminate is a strong glow in the dark powder and comes in a variety of colors (blue, violet, green, aqua, violet, white) with each color having various levels of glow strength. I should note that I tried to apply the powder a variety of ways (i.e., mixed in with the Vitrea paint, sprinkled on the inside, etc.) and the best application was on the OUTSIDE of the jar, at the bottom of the container. After a charge in the sun or ten minutes under a UV light, the jar glowed beautifully and was perfectly complimented with a white hydrangea bud. Depending on the color of the powder, some jars glowed longer than others but overall I think it would make a nice addition to outside centerpieces for a backyard party.

This PEBEO Vitrea 160 Glass Paint is a real game-changer for stained glass projects! It's easy to use, dries quickly, and fires beautifully in a domestic oven. One of the biggest advantages is how easy it is to clean up. If I make a mistake, it washes right off before it dries. This gives me the freedom to experiment and create without worrying about permanent errors. The paint itself is incredibly durable, creating a glossy, vibrant finish that truly elevates my stained glass projects. However, I do need to be patient, as it requires a full 24 hours to dry before firing in the oven. Overall, this is a fantastic glass paint that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to add a touch of colour and shine to their stained glass projects. It's durable, easy to use, and produces beautiful results!

Parfait pour masquer un peu la virulence des guirlandes de Noel un peu trop étincelantes.
