Not soft. Stiff. Will get the job done but not what I was looking for.
Returned this cause it was the labor gown was super stiff. Felt like an actual hospital gown. and I didn’t really like the Pattern as much in person. So I didn’t even open up the baby portion.

This is such an awesome gown! We haven’t been able to use the infant outfit yet since baby was 6 weeks premature, but the gown is amazing. So comfy and makes breastfeeding and kangaroo care so much easier. I’ve been recommending to every pregnant person I know.
