Had some trouble with the vendor at first. Was sent a different product from a different vendor at a higher price. Situation was righted. After that, found this product to be superior to what was available locally. (Make sure you get the product featured on the Sashco storefront for the price listed.)

I bought this online as none of the local hardware stores cares the 1/4 inch size. Better value also, as you pay less per foot. Did not need a100 ft but there is some in my supply cabinet now.

This works great. The way the cells break down helps the backer rod fit easily into smaller cracks as well. I wanted to buy this backer rod in black and was disappointed it only came in grey, but this is a dark grey so it still works well. I like the darker colors because then I can fill a space and I don't necessarily have to caulk over it because the backer rod is not obvious. Sometimes the light grey works better for that, depending on the area it's needed in, but the darker colors work best for my applications and this product works great.

Needed to fill some gaps letting air in. This product is cheap, easy to use, and WORKS! Awesome.

This product works great for plugging gaps where cold air is entering the house (windows, doors, trim etc.). Several sizes to choose from - make sure you have the appropriate size for the gap you are trying to fill.

I installed some surface mount outdoor electrical boxes and needed to caulk a small gap between the box and the wall. This backer worked without issue. My local big box store no loner carries this size so I ordered from Amazon. When using this type of backer make sure the backer is larger than the gap you need to fill. The backer will need to compress for a tight fit. I ordered the 1/4 inch backer and my gaps were about 1/8 inch. A plus my package contained 100 feet of the backer at a fair price. I only needed about three feet. The extra cam in handy. I accidentally poked a deep hole in the kitchen drywall and the backer with a little creativity bailed me out along with a little spackle and paint. I will keep this stuff handy.

Really like this dark dark grey - almost black filler rod. Worth the extra few $
