4141 Laguiole Bougna France Stunning hand made folding pocket knife.

This is a beautiful, well made knife. I especially liked the leaf and vine design placed along this knife's spine, a very elegant touch. All around a great purchase and a classy blade.

My wife bought me this knife as a Christmas present. I can't say enough good things about it: beautiful appearance, beautiful workmanship, and very unique appearance...in a good way. It was very sharp, right out of the box, and after a few minutes of honing on an oil stone, it's scary sharp! I have several other very high quality knives, and this one is on a par with any of themA few minor negative issues: the opening/closing mechanism was very stiff...to the point of being unsafe to close. I used simichrome on the friction points and it's opening and closing much better. Working the mechanism further will only make it better.Another issue: the advertised sharpening rod, grease tin, and leather sheath did not accompany the knife. An email from my wife to the seller and he posted them immediately. That was good. What wasn't good was the sheath was not a Laguiole brand item. Further, it was not lined, thereby having the metal snap inside the sheath uncovered and rubbing against the knife. I'm looking for a proper sheath that will secure the knife and keep it from getting marred by an exposed snap. This may seem like I'm nit-picking, but it's silly to damage a knife with a cheap sheath...It would be like buying a new car, then parking it in a garage that scratches the fenders every time you drive it in.These few negatives aside, this Laguiole knife is a wonderful product and is a welcome addition to my small collection of quality knives.Thanks to Amazon and the manufacturers of the Laguiole knives, and my wonderful wife for buying it for me!
