This project was very nice. I think it would be a good beginner project. I chose the 11-count printed bird pattern, and the kit came with everything I needed. In addition to the printed pattern, there was a large-scale paper version of the design, extra needles, and plenty of thread. I am frugal with thread. Even so, I think that someone less frugal would still have plenty remaining. The symbols in the print pattern were all easy to discern from one another, and since this is 11 count, the stitches are larger, so I think that this would be a great first project to get into cross-stitch. There is an uncommon stitch included in this project, which is the 3/4 stitch, but the instructions on the back of the packaging show how to complete this stitch. When soaking the project to get the ink off, I let it soak for about 3 hours, which is recommended in the instructions, and all the ink came off easily. I ironed it afterwards to make it all lie flat and look nice.

it was the perfect wedding gift for my nephew and his new bride. The kit was easy to use and work with and the final result was well received.

I ordered this for something to due during the COVID-19 crisis. I have been working on it for about 1 1/2 months here and there and about 1/2 completed. I still have 2mths to get it done for my grand-daughters B-day and I should be able to. Once you get the hang of what color goes where it is easy. However, I would say this is for someone that has done 1-2 smaller cross stitch or stitching projects first. Maybe not for your first project since it is large and will take a long time to complete. You need to be sure you like stitching. ***UPDATE****Finished in the nick of time. It did run when soaked. Maybe I soaked to long. Don’t soak longer than 20m. I used a clean toothbrush brush and some bleach water to get out the runs. It’s pretty hope my grand- daughter loves it. Took me 4 months to finish.

When I work overtime in a hospital, I have very few responsibilities and a lot of downtime. I bought this too fill that time and because I never did one before It seemed like anything to do. It's for my grandbaby and I'm not sure if I'm going to put it in a frame with her information or turn it into a pillow. I think it's absolutely beautiful and it served its purpose. Somebody said let it soak for 20 minutes, but that definitely did not work for me. I let it soak for a couple hours like the direction said. If you manually mess with it, it could happen faster. Also even after a couple of hours, the color key around the edges did not come out. I decided to use some Dawn soup and scrub it against itself on the edges. It came out right away and then I rinsed it with clean water and hung it outside to dry. I will definitely try something else, however, I bought a blank one. I intend to draw something on it.

This review is from the Wife of Just A Guy. -------------------------------------------------- First, the good: the disappearance of the pattern (after soaking in water, as instructed) was amazing and simple. The pattern completely vanished, without any discoloration of the threads. The bad: the gold threads were nearly impossible to use. Separating into three threads, as instructed, as very difficult, and the threads shredded easily (which revealed the underlying white base thread). I ended up using different type of gold-colored threads from my personal supply. Also bad: the choice of color (dark green) that surrounded some of the flower and leaf patterns was too dark and clumsy (three threads were too many). I used the color, but decreased the number of threads to two instead of three. I doubt that I will purchase from this supplier again.

Quality seems very good. (This is only my 4th cross stitch project). I started it and goofed due to the color coding (see pic). The green printed on the material is where you use black thread, the blue is where you use orange thread, the orange is where you use red thread and red is where you stitch blue and so on. One sleepy evening I started stitching the color printed and didn’t realize it for far too long. Not sure why corresponding colors couldn’t have been used. Other than my moment of distraction- I love this and would buy another.
