Lithium Orotate has done what Big Pharma could not do, get me stable.
The real deal!!!!! I suffer from Bipolar 1 with rapid cycling and major depressive disorder. I have been seeing a psychiatrist since my early 20's. I have done the medication shuffle all those years. In 2005 I was no longer able to take any psychiatric meds, my body couldn't handle it. I was having all kinds of serious side effects from the meds. So I stopped taking any psych meds and tried alternative methods without much success. In 2009 I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. All the prior years I had been misdiagnosed even though I showed all the signs of bipolar. As of this writing I am 46 years old. Not a good thing not being able to take meds when you are bipolar with major depressive disorder. My mental health had been deteriorating slowly since 2005 due to not being able to be on any meds. In 2011 I picked up drinking after being sober almost 19 years. I was going out of my mind! I felt like I was going to explode and I knew I had to do something, so I picked up a drink consciously to try to manage my bipolar disorder. I was out there two years drinking, it is amazing I made it through those two years. I felt like I had died but was still living. Even though I felt like there was no hope, I still held onto a small sliver of hope. I knew my life was not suppose to be a life of misery. I kept searching and looking for some help, something to help me. That is when I came across Lithium Orotate, did some research. Read the reviews on here and elsewhere. My first brand of Lithium Orotate was Atrium Supreme Lithium. I bought it at my local health food store. I took one tab once I got in the car. The next day I felt an improvement, then I slowly increased to 3 or 4 tabs daily. That next day I put down the drink and have been a little over two years sober now. I have since tried many different brands of LO and they all were inferior to the Atrium LO until now. Seeking Health LO is just as good or better than the Atrium LO. All the other brands of LO I tried my symptoms came back and I was not managed. Not that I don't still have flare ups once in a while, I do. But for the most part my life is finally balanced and I am slowly repairing my life and living it for the first time it seems thanks to LO. I have recently switched over completely to SH LO. SH LO seems to have the quality and consistancy of the 5 mg of elemental lithium. I also like that it doesn't really have any fillers and is more pure than other LO that I have tried. I take SH LO 3 to 4 tabs daily. I also take tablespoons full of omega 3's daily. The combination of the two has not only gotten me stable but has lifted my depression for the most part. I also exercise daily and try to eat healthy. I had a DNA swab test done over a year ago by Genomind. It tests 10 genes that are related to depression and depressive disorders. Out of the 10 I had 6 defective genes. It was very validating. It scientifically proved what I already knew and validated me. I knew I couldn't take meds now I knew why. I recommend everyone get the test done. Ask your doctor. There were two defective genes on that test that really made a big difference in my life when I found out I tested positive. One was the MTHFR gene and the other was CYP2D6. The MTHFR gene mutation showed that I had both alleles c677t and a1298c which means that my enzyme activity is reduced. This enzyme has to do with being able to convert folic acid and folate in foods to L-Methyfolate. My enzyme activity is reduced by about 80% since I have both alleles and I am compound Heterozygous. Not good but it was enlighting. It made eating healthy and cutting out all processed flour products a must if I want to feel better. Why? Because the government has been supplementing our foods with folic acid since the early 90's to prevent neural tube defects. Well.... that is a problem since my body can't process folic acid. No wonder I felt so crappy when not eating well. I was being poisoned by the food I was eating. It was an eye opener. When I eat healthier I feel better. Not that I don't cheat and fall off the wagon. I do but when I stay away from processed foods or unrefined flour products I feel a lot better. The CYP2D6 is intermediate metabolizer. My body has a defective enzyme where there is an increased risk of elevated serum levels of some drugs, increased drug interactions and reduced production of active moieties. No wonder I had such reactions to Big Pharma meds. Eye opening, I recommend you get the test done. LO has saved my life and given me a second chance at life. SH LO I feel is the best OTC LO out there. Thank goodness for Dr. Lynch and his research and products!! I wish you luck in your journey to find out what works for you. I wish you health, happiness and prosperity.

Important Supplement to Use with MTHFR/COMT mutations
Disclaimer: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. I'm a patient navigating the tricky waters of MTHFR. The product is excellent. It's a very important product for those with COMT/MAO-A genetic polymorphisms when they also have MTHFR polymorphisms. In short, the COMT mutation makes it difficult to properly compensate for the methylation problems caused by the MTHFR mutations. Lithium helps take methyl-B's (folate and cobalamin) into the cells making it possible to use less methyl "stuff." Using less methyl is crucial for those with the COMT/MAO-A mutations because too much methyl can cause emotional instability. This product has done for me exactly what I hoped and anticipated. Just a word of warning: DO NOT use as much methylfolate or methylcobalamin until you know how much the lithium enhances the apparent potency of each. Again, too much methyl "stuff" can cause severe emotional instability. Used properly, the lithium helps even things out between emotional stability and adequate methylation.

So helpful!
Such a good alternative to anxiety medication! My Dr. suggested this before meds and it’s a life saver! If I’m having a rough day I take one and feel so much better in about 20 minutes!

If you need to mix it in food, this is the one you want
I bought this in order to mix it in food that has a little sauce and apparently it’s tasteless as I’m not getting any complaints!

Genetic Deficiency Helped!
Genetic deficiency - not a mental illness. We all need Lithium, however some of us make less than others and that can cause some chemical imbalances, even if mild. Taking a low dosage of Lithium Orotate such as this helps keep away anxiety, mood swings, irritability, and frustration. Just one 5mg per day was noticeable immediately in a reduction of my social anxiety and general unwillingness to interact with others. Combined with a finely tuned diet, genetic research for optimized supplements, and exercise, it's been one of the puzzle pieces to make me overall better. There were many others on the market, but I chose to go with the brand that seemed to care most about reducing bad additives and had enough integrity to fill their capsules with actual lithium orotate. May wish to avoid taking this until consulting a physician or doing a DNA test and analysis.

Experiment with your dosage.
As one reviewer mentioned, taking 5 mg a day probably won't have much effect, but lithium orotate is usually produced in that dosage per capsule so you can regulate your intake according to what works best for you. I don't take it for mood stabilizing but for maintaining decent memory with a senior brain, and it works well for me (along with my other brain supplements). I've worked it out to take 2 caps twice a day, early morning and after breakfast. I suggest experimenting for yourself. There's an excellent article on lithium at http://tahomaclinicblog.com/lithium-the-misunderstood-mineral-part-1/
