DCI Magic Frog to Prince, Birthday Gift

Bought this for my mother to go into a sort of "happy divorce" basket. It went in along with some divorce comedy dvds, a mix cd, spa supplies, candy, beauty supplies, and candles with photos of her mother and sisters on them. She loves this guy and keeps him on her dresser for safe keeping. She refuses to use him though, claiming she's waiting until she's really desperate for a prince. ;)

I was super excited for this, and quite disappointed. It took hours for the frog to dissolve. Once it was a little Prince and the container was refilled, it took several days to reach full height. My expectation of full height was much different than reality. It's not much bigger than a green army man, doesn't get as big as the box indicates.

Funny! It works! From frog to Prince in a copule of minutes then the Prince started growing up!! Eheh eheh

The internal frog part broke off the base during shipping and is in a sealed container, so it couldn't be repaired. The return credit was easy, but it was disappointing that such a fun item was internally fragile enough to not make it through shipping, even with padding around it.

The frog color comes in bad conditions, some spots green and other yellow. I guess it is affected by the humidity.

A friend of mine gave me the Magic Frog to Prince for my birthday, and I thought it was a really cute gift idea. Not only is it a funny gift, it's actually kind of interesting to watch the frog dissolve and reveal the prince (thought it takes more than a few minutes- more like half an hour to an hour). This is a great Valentine's Day gift for your single girl friends. It's also good for little girls (over age 3, of course) who will enjoy the science fair-y fairy aspect of the toy. It loses one star because the reaction isn't as fast as advertized, but it's fun over all.

Both of the items I order came broken, which was very disappointing

Hab den Traumprinzen meiner Single-Freundin geschenkt. Sie hat sich total gefreut und wir waren gespannt, ob wirklich ein Prinz erscheint. Es funktioniert wirklich, Wasser rein und der Frosch verwandelt sich zu einem Prinzen. Ist ein lustiger Gag, aber danach wird es wohl nicht mehr lange als Andenken in der Wohnung stehen bleiben :)
