It works like it should. It sends the signal, to start the 4 gas burners, a lot faster, than my old one. It's hard to believe, that from all the part sellers, on this product, the price can go all the way up to $240, for the same part.

First one was defective (safety sensor). Since it was fulfilled by Amazon, the replacement was sent quick, but both the first one and second showed late which was fantastic seeing as I had no heater at my house....Second one works O.K.. Products are cheaply built....UPDATE, second one died as well....save your money and buy somewhere else!

My 1988 Carrier furnace was short cycling. It would run from 5 seconds to 5 minutes before the main gas would shut off. I took the original apart. The bimetal switch was pitted. After installing this, the furnace ran for a solid hour until I decided the place was warm enough. I did /do have two problems, though.First, the two holes for the mounting screws are too small. I could not get them in there, even though they were self tapping. The metal is very hard. I had to drill and tap to 6/32. Then it was easy peasy.Second, it won’t light. I get spark and gas, but no ignition. It’s either my spark gap or the orifice. I can light the pilot when it’s sparking using a long lighter. Then things just take off wonderfully. I’ll play with the gap.

This item was defective. I want my money back. I am unable to return it because we tried to use it and it was defective.

Order this discontinued item and it's working great so far.
