Herm Springer Black Stainless long link fur saver collar
Herm Sprenger stainless steel collars are awesome. They last forever, are strong, and well worth the premium price for their reliability which provides peace of mind when a situation arises and the collar absolutely has to perform for the safety of everyone around. The black collar is cool, and blends well with the color of my Rottweiler's fur. The only thing for me is that after 2-3 years of everyday use (using it a lot for walking, etc.) the black color wears off and it starts to go back to the regular stainless color. So it does last, just not forever. Doesn't affect the reliability and performance of the collar, just the color. So, I now buy the regular stainless and save a couple of bucks. If I was really committed to the collar staying the black color I would probably send it out to be salt bath nitrided and never worry about it again. Function, reliability, and most importantly peace of mind that this piece of kit provides every time I place this around the necks of my love bugs is worth it. Buy with confidence.

Another wonderful Sprenger product!
Bought this for my GSD, Maxxine. Our trainer recommended this because the rolled leather collar she had was causing her fur to break. Happy to report her fur is growing back and she's a gorgeous girl again!

New favorite collar
Authentic Herm Sprenger fur saver in black stainless steel. 23” fits my GSD perfectly; for reference she has a 20.5” circumference at the widest part of her head and it’s snug getting in on, which is the ideal fit. Sits just right on her neck and doesn’t leave a collar ring even if it’s left on multiple days in a row. Most collars will rip or break her fur after an hour no matter the width and material. I’m extremely happy we’ve found a full time collar that isn’t a choke hazard like normal slip chains, has a point of weakness like a buckle, or isn’t dander/waterproof.

So nice!
I really love this fur saver. It makes you realize how CHEAP standard choke collars are that you find it pet supply stores. My dog definitely deserves better than that when we're training.
