This book is more about politics than culture -- very disappointing.

This is a good general guide as to culture and customs. It is not a true travel guide per se. I’d recommend using an additional book or resource for more information regarding local sights.

This is an interesting book about South Africa. Some of the interesting information that this book mentions include the following information: The Mall of Africa in South Africa is the largest mall in the Southern Hemisphere. Burger King came to South Africa in 2013. The cost of meat in South Africa, relative to other countries, is very low. So, for visitors to South Africa, a prime steak is surprisingly cheap in South Africa. The South Africa currency is the Rand. Driving in South Africa is on the left side of the road. Gas stations are not self-service in South Africa. Gas stations are full service in South Africa. An attendant will check the tire pressure, oil, water, and so on. South African English has many words and phrases taken from Zulu and Afrikaans.
