Hadley WrenWomen's Lightweight Summer Insect Shield Scarf

I used this scarve for a recent trip to Alaska. While my fiance was fighting off bugs they didn't bother me and stayed away from me. Note: I also DID wear a hat, a shirt and pants that were insect repellent too...I LOVE this scarf...It has a natural, cottonlike, soft feeling rather than feeling synthetic, which is really nice next to my skin. I have a lot of skin sensitivities and this didn't both my skin in the least. This color is perfect for summer and I wore it both with my camping pants and t-shirt and parka as well as during my 'dress-up' nights with fancy clothes.I loved how large it is so that I could wear it around my shoulders as a shawl or around my neck wrapped multiple times for both protection from wind, biting insects and cold..This is such a lovely color, even prettier in real life than on my screen. I got a lot of compliments on this scarf and intend to take it camping for a week in mid-August where it is likely to get very dirty with the primitive conditions. I hope it will continue to keep those biting insects away, plus enjoy the cozy, comfortable and feminine, lovely, flowing, ample fabric of this scarf. I am thrilled to find this!

I really wasn't sure if this was going to work to repel mosquitos but I wanted to try it anyway because some of the trails I walk can be absolutely brutal with the little devils. This scarf really does work to keep them away from me! I haven't had a single bite on my upper body since I started using the scarf, and I even think the insects buzz my face less. The scarf is quite long, and there are lots of ways to configure it for coverage. What I've found works best for me is to drape it over my head, using a hat to hold it in place, and then I can hold the ends of the scarf in my hands so I can still move my arms while I'm walking, but my arms stay covered. My neck and upper back also get covered and my arms are protected all the way to my fingertips (because mosquito bites on the back of the hand are the worst!). I may look silly (haha) but I'm very happy with this solution to the pesky biters.

I am a mosquito magnet, I have used this multiple times now and have been bite free. I keep it in a ziplock between uses. Light enough to use during summer camping and large enough to cover legs or arms/torso. a total winner!

Have been draping this over my shoulders for the last week and haven’t noticed any mosquito bites. The picture of the cream scarf showed fringed ends which I didn’t want but ordered any way for protection. Very pleased when I opened package to find finished ends. This is a very gauzy scarf so I had feared it would ravel if the ends were raw.

I recently used this scarf while camping. It is nice looking, and did seem to ward off mosquitoes. I do recommend it.

Wore this scarf everyday in Thailand and it totally protected me from bug bites! Didn’t have a single one while wearing this… it’s also super cute!!

It is a really nice scarf. Yes, a little big but good for a plane trip, to keep a chill off, probably good for cool mornings. I got mine for a trip to Peru. I haven’t tested outside as we have few mosquitoes right now. From what I’ve read, permethrin is very effective. The place where I got my travel shots promoted permethrin sprays. In any case, nice material, good feel, and it couldn’t hurt to have an added layer of protection. I REALLY don’t want dengue fever.

Love this item.. wore around my neck and no mosquitos bothered me while outside in the evening for 3 hours!!

Bought mainly for the technology inside and not yet tested. Colour was darker than expected or wanted.
