This chair was packed in a very heavy-duty box and was in perfect condition on arrival. It comes in two parts -- the chair and the base. The base attaches easily to the bottom of the chair with 4 supplied screws and a supplied Allen wrench. My first impression was that this was a very "retro" and stylish chair but considerably smaller than I thought it would be (yes, I did see the dimensions before ordering -- the width is deceiving because a large measure of it reflects the up-swinging "swan" arms and not the seat). A large adult will have difficulty fitting into the seat. But more important is the almost complete absence of any meaningful padding. It feels as if you are sitting on a leather-covered wooden bench. Prolonged sitting without adding some sort of pad on the seat quickly becomes uncomfortable. The leather is attractive. Bottom line: this chair looks great but it's small for the average adult and uncomfortable when seated. I will probably give it away -- I cannot sit on it for any length of time.UPDATE: I purchased from Amazon a chair pad (Memory Foam Chair/seat Cushion Pad: Non Slip [Black]) and placed it on the seat. This made a big difference in comfort, I've added an extra star and will probably keep the chair.

I scheduled this chair to be returned. It is a little expensive. I purchased an inexpensive chair at Staples to have something to sit on until I could find something more reasonable. I'm thrilled I took the box in from the light rain and opened it.♡This is a gorgeous, elegant piece of furniture♡It is worth every penny

Excellent product. The chair is very comfortable to sit on and the leather feels smooth all around the chair. It's a very well made chair. The metal legs are actually very solid to support the chair with someone sitting on it. I Love it.
