Have had several indoor compost bins in my time. All have had miserly capacity and/or loose or tight fitting lids or have rusted or bent. One final try? Okay. Well, jackpot! This one can take a decent amount of waste before we have to walk it to the outdoor bin. It can be placed square on to the worktop edge for spill-less transfer of potato peelings. It's made well, from hard plastic so it won't bend. The lid is hinged and fits well, so it won't smell. It hangs securely and conveniently inside our under-sink cupboard, so you can't see it. Oh, and it has a removeable top so it's easy to clean. Bloody brilliant, cheers!

Usual quality from Joseph Joseph, just the right size for our needs and sits well against the back of the kitchen worktop. Good, sturdy carry handle and easy to wipe or wash clean once a week. I like the option to have it door mounted if I had the room.

As the occupant of a single person household I was looking for something compact and discrete for disposing of green household waste, and this certainly fits the bill. It is well-made and sturdy. The bracket supplied means it is now attached to the inside of a kitchen cabinet door, out of the way. The carry handle is neat and useful when it comes to disposing of the contents in the composter. I find that I only fill about half of it during the course of a typical week but cannot leave it longer than that as it can start to smell after about ten days. The first time I used it I left it two weeks before emptying it which was a mistake! The biodegradable bag had done what it was supposed to, but a bit earlier than I would have liked. The smell was gross, the bag had leaked all manner of brown liquids into the base and there was a hairy grey mould between the bag and the container! All in all, not the most enjoyable experience early on a Saturday morning, just after breakfast. Well, at any time, really. Lesson learnt, it now gets emptied more regularly. It would have been great if there had been a filter in the lid, like the larger model, but the slider control is supposed to help keep the balance between holding back the smell and repelling squadrons of flies. Can't complain overall, the issues with the leaking bags is down to the bags not performing well enough rather than any design fault in the product. Faced with the same options again, I would definitely still go for this over the others I looked at and, sad as it is, I did look at loads. So I suppose that is a big red tick and gold star from me.

Fantastic extremely pleased with this

I like the size and shape. It fits in a narrow spot in my kitchen out of the way. It is easy to open and use without getting it dirty because the shape and the way the lid opens means you can scrape plates or kitchen boards into it without bits falling anywhere except into the main opening. The council green food bags fit it perfectly. The handle is comfortable to use and folds away neatly without getting in the way when not being used. It looks nice. I keep the air vent closed and I have had no trouble with flies nor smells. It is a bit expensive but it is worth it for the style, convenience and 100% suitability for my needs.

Wish I'd discovered this sooner. Perfect size to fit inside kitchen cupboard door, with ample clearance of sink. Frees up valuable counter top space, and is away from sunlight so food waste does not degrade so quickly which means the compost bag lasts a bit longer. Very impressed with the solid design and ease of fitting. Although the design is slim it holds more than my previous compost caddy.

Soo pleased. Fits exactly how I wanted and just fills what was an empty space. Would highly recommend. Oh and the colour is perfect. By the way, I’m a lady weeks away from my 80th but I’ve managed to fit this myself. Really thrilled. It looks very sturdy, easy to clean, and being Joseph Joseph I’m certain it will be most durable

Lo volvería a comprar y de hecho ya lo he comprado dos veces. El diseño es muy bonito y encaja en cualquier cocina, fácil de instalar y de limpiar (NO EN LAVAVAJILLAS, NUNCA). Lo mejor es que se puede desplazar a cualquier situo, sierra bien y no da olores. Las bolsas son maravillosamente resistentes y ganan con creces a cualquier otra bolsa que haya probado. Muy satisfecha del producto, de la funcionalidad y del estilo.

Great product

Ca fait 1 an que je l'utilise et c'est très pratique au quotidien. Il est installé sous l'évier et lorsque je cuisine il est facile à prendre pour déposer les pelures. Je ne met pas de petit sac à l'intérieur mais ca pourrai être utile pour ne pas tacher le bac car si je laisse le déchets trop longtemps il faut bien frotter pour le nettoyer par la suite.

Prodotto molto pratico ed utile! E' facile da pulire e occupa poco spazio, quindi è perfetto per la cucina di casa. Inoltre non fa fuoriuscire nessun cattivo odore, il che è un grande vantaggio! La qualità del prodotto è buona e il design è funzionale. Lo consiglio a tutti coloro che vogliono gestire i rifiuti alimentari in modo efficiente ed igienico

I searched everywhere for a good compost bin that checks off all my requirements: sleek looking, not bulky, perfect griege colour, lid does not fall off like the ikea ones, perfect size - not too big or small, holds garbage bag down, lid is removable, good quality, easy to clean, can attach to cabinet doors. This is definitely an Amazon Must-Have!
