Sun Red Sun

I have to admit I steered clear of George Lynch ever since the extremely disappointing "Smoke This" CD. I never understood the need to mix metal and rap, it is almost as nauseating as trying to make Disco Metal. Was there a great call for that product? I don't know, but it turned me off enough to avoid one of my favorite players for years. I am glad I got this one and I will probably go back and start looking at the other discs since "smoke this." Oni Logans vocals dazzle and make a great counterpunch to George's outstanding guitaring. If you like Lynch Mob you will like this. If you liked Dokken with GL you will like this. If you liked any of his solo stuff you will like this. If you don't like rap avoid "Smoke this" It should have been called "Burn this"

George Lynch first caught my attention as the lead shredder for Dokken... However, I have enjoyed his "solo" work even more. This latest entry into his extensive career with the Lynch Mob did not disappoint. Here he offers some covers, some excellent new material as well as songs that bring back memories of the very best of the Big Hair and Loud Guitars of the 80's. However, his finest work was in the title track, Sun, Red, Sun, where he softens the tone in this outstanding ballad... His sound is not "dated" as with many of the shredder "wannabe's"... The guitar work is impeccable and the vocals are clear and oozing with passion... It is obvious to me that Mr. Lynch has learned his "chops" and earned his way into the very elite ranks of virtuoso rockers... Can't wait to hear what he has on the horizon... I'm sure it will "Sizzle"...

Great new album from great George Lynch! It is so good to see Oni Logan working with George again to bring back the Lynch Mob sound & that vibe those to have together! This is not a full on Lynch Mob album, but the main players are once again working together. There are some really great tracks on the album, but my favorites are their reneditions of "Burnin' Sky", & "Play the Game", plus "Sun Red Sun", & the remastered bonus tracks on the deluxe edition. Highly recommend to all fans of Lynch Mob.

This album again solidifies the fact that George Lynch is an amazing guitarist. We all know that already. However, while a good album, this is not great. Some of the songs lack the punch that I heard on some of his other albums. I say that because the song I keep coming back to is the cover of Burning Sky by Bad Co. Lynch Mob does a great job in giving us an updated version of a classic song. If you are a Lynch fan, you'll like this, so do not hesitate to buy it.

Great tunes from Lynch Mob. Oni is on; his voice sounds great. Lynch, as always, is a mad scientist on the guitar. His tones on this are really nice. That first tune "Believers of the Day" is really great. I know when I've found something special when I wake up in the morning with a song or riff in my head. So glad these guys are continuing on. Thanks for the music!

Here I another great cd from George Lynch. Again and again Lynch produces excellent stuff. If you put all the great cds George Lynch has done in the last few years you would have a stack of cds one and a half foot tall! buy this if you like great rock!

Good solid record here. George maintains his trademark sound with class as always. Oni Logan has maintained his voice.This has the EP Sound Mountain Sessions added to it making this a complete album. Excellent cover of the title track from the great Ray Gillen is the best track.

This album is still getting better with each listen, 20 plus spins. This is a mature Lynch Mob, with a very controlled anger. Questioning leadership and struggles with faith.Each player is firing hard on each dynamic cylinder. My preferred sequence for continuity and maximum flow, I start the disc on track 8(Slow Drag). Let it loop around and end on track 7 (Sun Red Sun). Perfect.Thank you to GL and the boys for sharing your gifts. This album is very special. I'm buying 4 more to ship to friends and family.
