KONGSHENG BlueBird Diatonic 10 Hole Blues Harmonica,Key of C

I never thought I'd be writing a positive review of a Chinese made harmonica. Let's be honest about two things - first this is basically a copy of the Suzuki Olive but colored blue. At least they didn't copy the green color and call it the "Kongsheng Olive". But it's a copy of the work of others. Second, while it's a GOOD copy, and it really is, you can get the real thing for not much more money. If this was half the price, and you have no moral issue with copying what others do and pushing it as your product, then fine, it is honestly a good instrument. But like I said the real thing can be had for a little more money, and isn't a rip off of what someone else did.

I recently got several Kongsheng harmonicas, one being a Bluebird in C. It is a fine quality instrument. I’m impressed. It’s louder and stronger than a Special 20 and all reeds 1-6 bend nicely. The tone is bright. You can see that the reeds are welded, not riveted, to the plates. We’ll have to see how durable that proves over the long term. For now, I’d say a Kongsheng Bluebird is a fine instrument fir beginner and experienced player alike.
