Making a good knife requires constant smelting: high temperature heating and repeated folding , hammer flat, especially to make the blade more sharp, use local quenching. And through the method of changing the steel structure to solve thousands of years of toughness and hardness of the difficult problem.katana has a very high technology in making method. Generally speaking, after cutting edge, quenching and polishing, it should be combined with white wood handle scabbard to keep the blade for sale, while handle, scabbard, tan and other dao are used as another line, and it is decorated by special metalworking .

Training begins
An amazing sword/Katana to begin with. I'm trying to learn every style of swordsmanship there is. I have a book to begin with already and the good thing is that this Katana is in the standard length of the type of training I'm beginning with. I'm only 21 but I know I have a long way to go being that I workout, exercise and train alone. It's more peaceful that way.-Learn everything about your basics and let that be the foundation for your growth.

Beautiful sword, disappointing scabbard and I’d buy another one
I love the sword, super sharp out the box, beautiful Damascus blade, fit and finish outstanding. Highly recommend, battle ready for sure. What’s disappointing is the scabbard, not a perfect fit. Too tight at the blade collar, the hanging tie cord came off, had to gorilla glue it. Had to Dremel the scabbard at the collar for the sword to fit properly, Came extremely snug where at times I could barely pull it apart. That being said, now the scabbard is just right and I’m loving the sword. Had the scabbard come perfect, I would rate a 5. Hopefully it will last for years with some usage, plan to take on camping trips for protection from wildlife, LOL

I'll go with the positives first:Everything was tight and fitted together nicely. The ito was wrapped tight, even, and very secure. The saya has a beautiful, smooth finish and a near perfect fit at the habaki. The blade came covered in oil and wrapped in a plastic sleeve, there was zero rust or blemishes on it, "appears" to be in excellent condition. The BoHi is nice and smooth, but uneven in length on the blade . The edge is decently sharp, cuts pool noodles smoothly & cleanly. The negatives:1: The blade inside the saya is a bit on the loose side, with sudden movement, it rattles a fair amount (can easily be corrected).2: The tsuka is on the thin side but still feels very nice and secure in the hand.3: The blade....The blade "looks" nice. The point/tip of the blade however was bent when I unboxed it. Using a straightedge you can clearly see the blade has a slight bow/warp around 3 inches from the tip (not super obvious unless you're looking for it, but it's there). I guess the only true negative to the entire katana is the blade tip being bent and slightly warped. As strictly a display piece, it is a beautiful addition, but if you plan on using it, I'm not sure I'd trust it for anything harder than pool noodles.I may send it back due to the bent tip for a replacement, but for a 100 dollar katana, it's not that bad of a sword.Update: Received a replacement quickly. Blade was nice and straight, no warp on this one. Everything else was identical to the first. Very pleased with it now.

It’s totally worth it’s price
Well worth the money spent .. wasn’t sure before purchasing.. after the unboxing was impressed by the quality.. also used in practice cutting tests .. met all my expectation . Blade didn’t chip or bevel over on the edge and no warping in the blade during heavy cuts ... probably purchase another in the future

Quality Control
Sword was packaged well but was very near blunted. Nothing marked it as 1060 and I'm not sure if the tang goes through to the handle. Makes me a bit aprehensive about testing as that could be dangerous. There was also no damascus steel waves not sure it is worth the price mark. SELLER: Feel free to contact me if you believe this was a quality control issue and I will happily update this review.

1060 Katana
The description is not , the description for the item I received. It was advertised as Damascus in the description. Which says a good sword is repededly heated and folded. The sword, I got was a regular 1060 carbon steel blade. The handle is made of a rubbery substance you can smell. The wrap was not that tight. But over all it's not $100 sword by no means. Looks like a fake sword, due to its handle. I sent back, I was looking for a Damascus blade. I already have a 1060 carbon steel sword. Looking for Damascus!!!!
