EXCELLENT Cannister Filter with Built-In Heating
I purchased this OASE BioMaster Thermo 350 canister filter on Amazon Prime about a month ago for use with my new 32-gallon fresh water planted aquarium. This canister filter is beautifully designed and engineered in Germany, and built in Italy. This is a VERY high-quality piece of aquarium equipment with several excellent built-in features. I’ve owned aquariums for over 40 years and this is hands-down the BEST canister filter I’ve owned. The pump primer feature is powerful and effective, easy to use, and gets the filter up and operating almost immediately after applying power. The ability to shutoff and remove the 5/8” ID inlet and outlet hoses without spilling any water is an EXCELLENT FEATURE, as is the ability to remove and clean only the pre-filter. The stacking media trays are VERY easy to remove and clean, and allow the use of several different types of filter media. This unit was clearly designed by people familiar with aquarium equipment for people who use aquarium equipment! The built-in heater works great and keeps my aquarium rock-steady at the selected temperature. The pump motor is almost silent with virtually NO irritating vibration. The 5/8” ID hose supplied with the unit is tinted to hide algae and of excellent quality. I give this OASE BioMaster Thermo 350 canister filter my strongest recommendation. While not inexpensive, it works beautifully and is well worth the cost. Please see my photos.

Great aquarium filter!
This is my first external canister-type aquarium filter and I'm very happy with my purchase. Going from a 10 gallon tank with various hanging filters (Tetra, Fluval, Marineland) to a larger (50? gallon) tank with a red-eared slider was a big difference for me. Turtles are very very messy, so I knew I had to make the change when putting him into a bigger tank. I was nervous at first but now that I've had this for several months, I am comfortable with disassembly for routine cleaning. About 3 months into use, it started getting louder and louder. After ruling out air in the lines, I figured it had to be the impeller, but getting to it requires removing a housing that was impossible for me. Cleaning the impeller is part of routine maintenance so I knew it was not only possible but necessary- I just couldn't get to it. My hubby had to use the provided tool along with a little man-handling. Now that it's been removed once, I am able to to do it myself from now on, but it was just that first-time I couldn't untighten its cover. Again, I'm very happy with my purchase as it is quite easy to clean (now that my husband has loosened all the fittings) and it keeps the water super clear. It doesn't leak, is completely silent (when maintained properly), and is pretty straightforward to setup and maintain. The only criticism I have is that there's no indicator for the heater - there's no light that it's on and working, and even if there was a light you wouldn't be able to see it since it's internal. So your only indication of a burned out heater would be cold water. This hasn't happened yet but is something I think about.

This is the best filter, ever
I switched from HOB filters to this filter because I wanted a built in heater and less maintenance. This filter is whisper quite. I can't hear it at all. The built in heater is awesome. The filter requires very little maintenance and my 55 gallon aquarium is running perfectly. The water parameters have been perfect and the water flow is perfect for my planted tank. Priming the filter was a cinch as well. Just a couple of presses on the priming button. I have nothing bad to say about this filter. If you are on the fence, just spend the extra money and buy it. You won't regret it. What are you still reading this? Go buy it!

Next Level - Just Buy It
One of the coolest things ive bought for my freshwater planted tank. The Oase Biomaster 350 is a beast and a QUIET one at that, I have powerheads louder than this thing and I have to touch it to see if its on. The only thing I was disappointed with was that only one bag of bio media is included, the rest are sponges - so I added Seachem Matrix to two of the other trays along with the included biomedia. If youre feeling fancy you can opt for the Aquario Neo Lily pipes size large but the stock pipes are fine, just not as fancy. Water flow is good, a little more mellow than I expected with the spray bar, build quality is exceptional, easy to setup and go and the self siphoning feature is gold. Great price right now too, I have the UNS Delta 90 and it was cheaper than the Oase but the Biomaster is almost twice the capacity and quieter. Wish I'd gone Oase all the way.

I love this filter!
Let's get the negative out of the way first. When I received this, one of the rubber gaskets internally was torn, so I emailed Oase support with photos asking for a replacement gasket as I didn't want to return the entire product and hold up my aquarium build. I received the automatic confirmation email back, but never received an reply. After 2 weeks, I emailed again. They then promptly replied and said that the gasket was on back order and would not be available for another 4 months. They suggested I return it and get a new filter. I looked at it and didn't think it would cause any leakage, but thought it may lower the throughput of the filter. I chose to go with it and replace it at a later time at my own expense. Hopefully they won't make me purchase a new pre-filter assembly. The filter is working just fine. This made it a 4 star. If the gasket was good, I 100% would have given 5 stars... The only other thing I don't really like about the filter is the intake/output design. There are a few other cannister manufacturers out there that make the transition from hose to tank a bit nicer. The squarish fittings over the top of the tank are kind of floppy, only to have 1 suction cup on the output and 2 suction cups on the intake barely helping to hold it in place. This is compounded by the fairly stiff hose makes for a bit of a twisting bending moving activity to get everything to sit right on the tank. Don't get me wrong, it works, but I'm just saying it could be designed a little better. Now for the good. I pretty much like everything about the cannister. The pre-filter and ease of access. The integrated heater. The build quality and design. I did cut up one of the blue coarse filters to use on the pre-filter instead of using the finer sponge that came with it, but that's personal preference. Internally, I used the coarse filter on the bottom (1st media. Flow is bottom to top in the main part of the filter) the fine filter at the top and biomedia between them. Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase and unless something catastrophic occurs, I will probably be using these exclusively in the future. I whole heartedly recommend this filter.

Best canister filter I've ever used
I've used other brands of canister filters, but this one is by far the best I've ever used. When you consider that it contains an integrated heater, the price is actually quite good. I have mine hooked up to an Oase UV filter as well, which was quite easy to do (I didn't even need any additional tubing beyond what came in the box). Some of the nice features: very easy to remove and clean the pre-filter, integrated heater, large media baskets. One tip is to buy some of your own media; what comes with the filter isn't bad, but you can find better. I put activated carbon in the bottom basket, followed by two baskets of Fluval Biomax bio rings, and then the two layers of the included sponges. I have a 55 gallon rectangular tank (48" long) and the heater is working fine. I set it to 79 F, and I have an external thermometer attached to my aquarium that shows it's at exactly 79 F. It took about a day to warm up completely but now it's holding steady. You really can't go wrong with this filter - highly recommend.

Look like a great design, but the function is severely lacking.
I liked the fact of how easy it was to clean the pre-filter section and I liked the fact that the heater is built-in but it never filtered all the particles out of the fish tank because it keeps on getting air bound and each time it purges it disturbs all the matter in the filter, sending it all back into the tank. I worked on it and I finally got it so it didn't suck air in so I thought everything was going to be better, but it never filtered out all the finer particles. After several months, I was done with it and purchased a Fluval. Overnight, I could see a big difference and after several days I am very happy with the results of my new filter by Fluval. A $300 learning experience.

Well Made Great Records in Reviews. Good Warranties.
I've Tried Repeatedly to get a good quality Canister Filter. I tried The Polar Aurora Canister Filter 525 & 265GPH with 9-watt UV Sterilizer. Both leaked just after 3-Month Warranty Both Damaged & eventually ruined My Wood Floors. The Sun is Made exactly the Same. First time after In tried everything to stop the 265gph leaking after warranty exp. I upgraded to the 525 But exact same problem. I contacted Amazon & Seller was sent a New O-ring & I had bought 1 too. Didn't work @ all. I Purchased after Reading reviews all over internet about leaking Canister Filters. The OASE Indoor Aquatics Biomaster Thermo 350 It was highly recommended Couldn't find complaints of leaking. Also Has about the best Warranty 3+1 year extended. Wish had UV Light But comes with internal Heater that evenly heats entire tank (No Cold Spots on other-side from heater this way.) This has a handle I am 1 handed paralyzed on left half body. Even 2 handed non disabled have very difficult time working with or lifting The Aura or SunSun. Royal Pain. Those Type Canister have tons of complaints & Not Just By Me. I will Update If Have Anything to warn of But I Do fill very happy with the Purchase. I got a Refund for the Aura Thanks To Amazon Great Customer Service. So made the Purchase of This Canister Only Twice More & a bit the Price or so. @ $269.00 The Aura Original cost was $87.00 But the Cost in Damages & Repairs will be enormous. I've learned a lesson or 2. I had to put the Other Canister Filter in a Tub twice the size & in just a couple days would have 5 to 6 inches water. I am keeping The Oase in the Tub too & wont ever chance it. But not a drop of water yet. I hope I help others avoid the Hell I endured.

Best Filter on the Market
This is the second Oase Biomaster thermo filter I have purchased. They are very well made and provide a large media capacity to fill with your choice of media. The internal pre-filter is a fantastic feature - super easy to remove and clean without disrupting the whole filter. Intake and outflow allow for adjustability with the flow to help fine tune your tank. They are extremely quite with no real noticeable noise. The internal heater is another feature that sets this filter apart from the others. I've used many other brands and some of them are great, but none of them have the features the Oase do or are as easy to use.

No dura mucho.
Al año dejo de funcionar correctamente. Gotea por la parte de la tapa.

Poor QA QC on plastic moulding of intake/outake U tube that goes over edge of tank.
Overall the filter is very good. Quiet when operating, easy to prime, exhausts trapped air quickly. Really good. What is poor is the QA QC to ensure the accessories are not defective. The issue I have is that the plastic moulding of one of the plastic intake or outflow U tubes that includes the flow control adjustment that goes over the tank glass edge was not fully extruded - one can see in the photos that the U tube part on the right in the first photo is shorter than the one on the left in which the intake tube is inserted. As a result I am not able to connect the spray bar or intake tube to the U tube. For now I have used a piece of tubing to connect to the right angle plastic to which the spray bar tube is inserted.... not ideal. The QA on the plastic U tube part to ensure it is fully extruded in the plastic moulding process failed to detect the defective part. Update: This seller really stands behind his products he sells and is kindly forwarding me a replacement part so I have updated my rating to 4 stars.

Well theres Micro bubbles that’s for sure!!
I don’t understand how they could design something with so much potential to be so flawed because no matter what I’d do to get it to stop blowing micro bubbles it would keep doing it. I will be just for the heck of it trying silicone every place around the units out an inflow ports, heater spot, a lock an unlock tab to see if it works. Lmao. But for what I paid for this damn thing it should be damn near flawless in my opinion! I mean when I was like 15(an I honestly can’t even remember what company made the filter but) a the filter on our 55gallon fresh water tank never did that once that I could remember. Ever! I honestly want to love this thing because it has the potential to be amazing but yah it’s just so not!
