Bright Lights: A Juno Lighting 6RLD Gen 3 Bright White 6" Dimmable Retrofit Trim Module Review
I’ve had a lot of free time this past year, so I have been replacing my 1970s canned lights with newer housings and bulbs. I chose the Juno Lighting 6RLD Gen 3 bright white 6" dimmable retrofit trim module, made in China, to replace 17 downlights. In the process of upgrading my housings and bulbs, I discovered that the older Lutron Maestro dimmers we used wouldn’t completely turn off the LED bulbs. Unfortunately, this meant modernizing my dimmer switches as well. There are several name-brand Wi-Fi enabled switches on the market to consider which work with LEDs and add new features. These retrofit modules include a medium base socket adapter that I don’t need. The newer housings use the quick connect plugs for these bulbs. If you have bulb sockets in your cans, the provided optional adapter will be required. These retrofit modules provide bright light, dim well, and look so much better than the old trim and bulbs I replaced. Additionally, I could feel air movement in the old can lights and feel none from my current setup. The Juno Lighting 6RLD Gen 3 bright white 6" dimmable retrofit trim module looks great, provides ample light, and is energy efficient. If you’re looking for energy-efficient bulbs for your recessed lights, the Juno Lighting 6RLD retrofit trim module is worthy of your consideration.► PROS:Replaces bulb and trimDimmableWet location ratedEnergy efficientIncludes medium base socket adapter5-year limited warranty► CONS:Price

Great for use in storage closet, not great in better spaces
As an architect I may be pickier than most, though I know these would not pass the muster for even “lower” high end installs when used in residential public spaces or studies etc. The diffuser sits to low in the ceiling and the CRI make these a good match only for a very utilitarian lighting application. I would not even use these in a laundry room as color accuracy is not great. I have a few in my own home in 2 basement walk-in storage closets (I would not want to use these in closets for clothing, again because color rendering is not great. Install was a breeze, I bought them because they are a good value, we needed to replace our recessed lighting trim after a repaint and cost for new trims for these fixtures is approximately similar to the price I paid for the full LED kit. In my office I bought a new trim for this fixture and paired it with a Soraa par30 shortneck lamp instead for nicer light quality/color/beam spread/ambience.

This is good for very old "high-hat" retro-fit repairs.
The product is first rate and the only thing I would change is NOT something that the product can do. The use of the side-spring retainers is good BUT there is a challenge in very old high-hat fixtures where there are no side clips that the springs can fit into. While Juno sells a retro-fit side clip, they are not suitable for all older fixtures. The only solution is to break plaster around the old fixture or to do what I did which is to use the side-springs for a friction fit and then "glue" the fixture in with a high quality adhesive caulk. The quality of the fixture is first class and the quality of the light is great for sink work involving fine china, as in our case.

light works well for replacing 5 inch trim
Like the depth of the recessed lens. It cuts down on glare significantly. Replaced trims on 25 year old cans. Provides a decent seal although I do prefer the sideways "spring metal" found in other fixtures to the long spring arms as my fixtures don't have slots for these. I was able to get them to hold the fixture in place, but it required a little patience. Decent light quality.

Replace Juno with Juno
We replaced our original Juno lights with led. They were perfect. I tried a different brand first and it didn’t fit.

Easy install, good fit
When we remodeled the kitchen, the contractor turned us on to this style of light in our inset lights. The seal is good and the look is cleaner than with the traditional inset lights bulbs. We like the kitchen so much, we retrofitted the bedroom as well. VERY EASY to install - my 4 yr old grandchild could have done it.

Best recessed LED for the money! No need to spend more
Great quality and finish. Light lens is sealed all the way around, no discernible gap between lens and housing. It was nice that the light socket adapter was included in the package. I was able to install 6 of these in literally 10 mins.

Work well in older Juno housings
I have old Juno cans in kitchen. Nothing from big box stores worked correctly. The trim was always too short and the led light flickered. So after some research, bought 2 of these to try. Fit my Juno cans perfectly and the lights work great! Guess you get what you pay for.
