Great replacement;
Easy to put on, replaced on a Mercruiser 7.4l W/ Thunderbolt IV ignition. Hadn't failed me yet, so all and all, a very good product.

Great value, good quality and low price
It was great to see that this coil for my Mercruiser 5.7L actually had brass terminal posts. After the problems about inferior terminals on other manufactures coils, namely aluminum or some sort of pot metal, that were easily broken as they were tightened, this coil had stronger brass posts and even came with the nuts tightened and the lock washers compressed. That told me this coil had a good chance of being installed without breaking anything. With a two year warranty, what's to lose?

Cheap price = Cheap product
Tried to save $100 and bought this cheap coil for my 5.0 Mercruiser. Left me stranded and had to get a tow in on the 1st trip using it. Engine shut off and wouldn't fire up. I should have known better by the hard cold start at first.

Good coil
A coil is a coil. This is supposed to be the recommended replacement, and works. It has a larger diameter than the original, so I had to expand the clamp which is not easy to get to. It seems well built and it is heavy. It works.
