I built a three gate vacuum system in a small garage work area. It's a great value and worked as it should.

It works with my setup. opening and closing is not as smooth as I would like it, but not bad for the price.

I am very pleased with these . The price is amazingly low.

When the gate stops closing there is dust built up in the sides. So cut the bottom of the housing off and the gate still works great but you will not have the trouble any more.

I don't have the money to buy a $500 4" hose dust collection vacuum. So I used my shop vac and a Dust Deputy vortex in my 24 foot long garage. I have the planer and jointer closest to the Vac and run a 2 1/2" hose down the center of the garage and drop off at the tablesaw, router table, bandsaw and drill press. A lot of folks say it wont work - but it does and much easier than trying to maneuver the bulky shop vac around the tools and workbench. These gates seal tightly and as long as I have only one open at a time they work perfectly.

Once some dust gets stuck in the bottom it keeps it from closing all the way. It’s happened to 2 of 2 of mine. It might last a month or 2 of heavy use. I tried using a thin piece of metal and a pressure cleaner to clean it out. No luck. Buy the metal ones you can take apart.

that these gates are cheap meant I could build out my vacuum system on a budget, they fill all my lightly used ports with little tension from the hoses. I still use aluminum gates for high use areas, but I could not to afford all of them in metal. I did need to reglue a couple together, but they work fine now.

I have an overhead tube system for my shop vac that I bought years ago .... I always had to remove a cap then plug a hose in when I wanted to use a different machine. Now I have a hose to each machine and with a little tap of my finger, I have vacuum to the tool I want.... Between these and my automatic vac switch, my life has become so much easier! ... I would often just not bother before and clean up the mess later because I figured it would take me almost as much work. Now my shop cleanup at the end of the day is done in 5 minutes!
