best finish with 1:1 tung oil
i refinished a very old pine floor with 1:1 mix of real milk citrus solvent and pure tung oil. one gal of each allowed for 6 coats on 500sq ft of floor with spectacular results. this was the ideal finish for my floor because i could not stay off of it for more than an hour at a time and am very sensitive to nasty chemicals. i put on a coat a day and my house smelled like orages for two weeks! i was walking on it with a dedicated pair of slippers which got a little oily but no problem. i have refinished many furniture with this same mix. since i hate the yellow tinge of pine, i dyed the floor a little with water base dye a mix of pre-mixed cherry dye and red... tip of teaspoon mixed in quart of water... the result is a really beautiful warm red tint to the floor which the tung oil finished beautifully. i never use stain on anything i do furniture or floors... water based dyes are the only way to go. tung oil cut with citrus solvent is the only wood finish worth using for any wood. non. toxic, easy to use, fool proof, easy future repairs and invisible patch repairs, supper easy to use, easy to clean after. what else do you want?! i ordered two mover solvents and another tung oil. the first set arrived in 2 days. the 2nd set was very late to arrive... i was getting ready to call. i was surprised since the first set got here so fast. still... the best price on these i have found and good service. once you use it, you will never use any other.

Great when used to thin the application of it's sister product, Real Milk Paint Pure Tung Oil, together they are amazing !!
I used this product to thin the application of the Real Milk Pain Pure Tung Oil as recommended by the RMP people and after doing research about the best way to refinish a thick wood cutting board I have and a Butcher Block work bench. Both the cutting board and work bench were very dry and in bad need of an oil job. This product, when used with the tung oil did and absolutely amazing job revitalizing both items to better than new condition. They now have a rock solid silky smooth feel and yet no oily feeling ! They both darkened very nicely and the cutting board is absolutely stunning, the wood grain just pops so beautifully. I couldn't be happier with the results of both. The two products together make a non toxic barrier to slow down the potential for liquid or water damage and prevent splitting of my work bench due to drying out. The scent is very pleasant too. I could not be happier with the results.

This is a fine product.
This is a fine product. I purchased this and a bottle of Dark Tung Oil and mixed it 50/50. I ran short and needed more "now". I found a local supplier by going to the company's web site (They were really great on the phone). It turns out that due to an orange shortage most retailers do not carry the citrus solvent due to it's high cost. The representative told me I could get "Dark Half" at my local woodwork supplier. "Dark Half" is made with pine oil, not citrus oil, I was in the middle of a floor and was assured it would not change at all by using the "Dark Half", I tried it, it was an exact match at 1/2 the cost. The odor was less intense than the citrus. You will have to have windows open if your doing a floor like I am. The floor came out beautifully, deep and rich. I highly recommend this product.

Multiple uses, excellent product
This was recommended to us by our contractor that installed our soapstone counter tops. To seal honed stone naturally, use 1 part of the citrus solvent with 4-5 parts mineral oil or mineral oil and tung oil. This stuff also cleaned oil stains off of our soapstone, old and dried oil based paint overspray off of the plastic lid on our garbage can and off of our engineered hard wood floor, and we used it to wash oil based and latex paint quickly and easily off of our hands. If it wasn't so expensive I'd order it by the gallon just to see what else we can use it for! Smell eventually may cause seasonal allergy-like sneezing but that can't be verified. Smell is pleasant. Shipping was much faster than estimated.

Works as advertised
It worked well for thinning raw tung oil, but the scent was extremely strong and lasted for days in my house. I would not recommend using it inside.

Great for Butcher Block
I used this in combination with tung oil to treat butcher block countertops and they came out wonderful! The videos on the website are really helpful and informative about why to use Tung oil over other oils, etc. The citrus solvent smelled really strong. I didn't consider the odor because it was citrus so I did the first coat on a small area inside, but it was too strong so I did the rest outside. For a small project I think it would have been fine to do it inside, but I was treating about 24 ft of counter tops, tops and bottoms with a few coats in the winter, so I couldn't have the windows open either. Overall great, quality product that did exactly what I needed it to!

Works great on oil paint, smells great
I've been using this instead of mineral spirits for oil painting for a while now. It's really expensive, but it's non toxic so it's worth it to me. I try to wipe as much paint off my brushes before I dip them into this, which I keep in small jars so I don't waste any. I use it to remove paint from my skin and haven't had any issues, like burning. I've also used it to remove wet oil paint that I've gotten on my clothes, by putting some on a paper towel and it comes right off and hasn't done any damage to the fabric. It really works great.

Great smell, perfect with tung oil
I wanted a darker finish without using any harsh chemicals. I started with a birch butcher block counter top. I sanded with 400 then 800 grit sand paper. This is probably too fine, but I wanted a smooth surface. I then aged the wood with an iron acetate solution, which is apple cider vinegar and steel wool. I sanded again to eliminate any raised grain. Now came the fun part. I got to apply Dark Tung oil cut 50/50 with this Citrous Solvent. It smelled amazing; think nutty oranges. I kept applying this mixture until it didn't absorb any more. The next day I ran over it lightly with some 000 steel wool, and applied another coat, this time more like 75/25 tung oil to solvent. Another day later I wiped on straight tung oil. The result is a great looking desk, that should hold up well.
