Don't hold up like I expected
I have used these gloves for about 3 weeks, 6 to 8 hours a day 6 days a week. I use the gloves on my land, moving downed limbs/trees, moving large rocks and anything I encounter on my land. The gloves are comfortable but do not hold up to hard work. The stitch in the fingers has broken and the cover leather is flapping. They have not developed a hole all of the way through the leather but I suspect they will in the next few days.I had high expectations but very disappointing.

Great gloves for welding!
I originally used the winter blue gloves for welding. They are lined and therefore thicker than the yellow pair. I wanted a cooler pair for my climate with the same leather thickness and durability as the blue pair which I finally put a couple of holes in at key points. The holes were mostly due to grinding and pinching-not from general welding. They lasted about 4 years and would have gone on much longer if not for my abuse. I got the best pair I could find that were similar (summer version) locally at Home Depot. I immediately found that they were not nearly as good. Looked up Tillman and found what I was looking for at a price only slightly higher than the best ones I had gotten at Home Depot. Got the lighter summer ones from Amazon and put them to work upon arrival. Very happy to say the least! The only detraction between the summer and winter Tillmans is the top hand cover. The winter blue has more leather over the back of the hand. The summer yellow has more mesh and therefore more chance for slag to burn through. But of course that is not a problem for a good welder-which is not me.

My absolute favorite work gloves
My absolute favorite work gloves. I've purchased a pair every other year for the past 6 or 7 years. After just a few hours of working in them, the leather molds to your hand and it fits "like a glove". The leather on the palms last a long time with the fingers wearing out first (like most leather work gloves). However, this only happens after a satisfyingly long time. The nylon back allows plenty of breathing to keep your hands less sweaty. The only problem here is with welding, sparks will easily burn holes in the back. I don't weld often so it isn't a big deal for me.Overall, love this glove and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a sturdy, reliable work glove.

Not great, but okay.
I love the look of these, the padding is excellent and they are fairly heat resistant. The seams of the fingers were crooked, the index finger was pointing outwards on the left glove, and the thumb was pointing inward on the left glove. The left glove felt larger than the right. After continuing to adjust the finger and flex to break in, the seams started coming around. Either way, I can tolerate these things even though I would NOT have bought them in a store if I had seen these issues in a store, but it wasn't worth returning them. I will go back to the more expensive Mechanix 4x thickness gloves.

Fit snugly enough to hold nails and screws easily but still protect the fingertips nicely
I go through a pair of gloves a month (if lucky and I stretch it) and get fed up with ones falling apart or wearing through a fingertip after the first hard use. I have tried every single mechanix and other heavy duty glove sold by HD, Lowes, and Ace, this one beats them all. I bought one pair to try out, did masonry demolition that day, sledgehammering and loading concrete chunks. Gloves took a beating and showed a bit of wear but my other gloves would have been shredded to ribbons, even with the fancy rubber guards glued all over them. Fit snugly enough to hold nails and screws easily but still protect the fingertips nicely. Have used for pretty much everything and have really impressed me. Just bought 3 more pairs.

Highly recommended as comfortable, sturdy gloves!
I purchased the John Tillman & Co. 1490L gloves last year as a gift for my husband who farms full time. Over the years he has tried almost every brand of glove out there but this Tillman brand is now his #1 choice. They are slightly stiff straight out of the packaging but he said that only after a few uses, they conformed to his hands and are well-fitted. They are also flexible and have a good grip. He highly recommends them as comfortable, sturdy gloves that hold up well. He was very pleased to see them under the Christmas tree again this year!

Durable, Comfortable. Excellent Pair of Gloves
My wife got me a pair of these, 3 years ago, from a travelling sales truck. I used these gloves heavily, year round. This fall, they were starting to show some wear. One finger tip was worn through. They had faded, and were more yellow/gray, than yellow/white.I found these on Amazon, and thought... WOW! I've won the lottery! Something that I bought, that lasted as long, if not longer than I had supposed, was STILL available! Folks, This kind of stuff just doesn't happen to me!Anyhoo... I've always wanted to say that... Anyhoo, These gloves are durable. They wear in pretty quick. You won't be able to say, pick up a pin, unless you catch the tip of the pin, in the finger tip leather, but you will be able to rappel down a cliff face... if you're into that kind of thing. I use these gloves, during Winter, to keep my hands fairly warm. They aren't weatherproof, and if they get wet, they will no longer be comfortable.Oh, and these gloves were used for putting up, and repairing barbed wire fence, pulling and picking up unwanted vegetation, roofing, and other chores.A good pair of gloves, well worth the price, if the color doesn't dissuade you.
