Don’t know if it’s made in Japan or China, but the quality and feel is just as good, if not better, than any of the European brands.

If you don't mind sharpening your blade every time you use it, the samurai is a good choice for you. The hardness that comes with the dynasty series requires a little more time to bring it to a razor sharp edge but it will last through multiple cutting tasks. My opinion spend a few extra dollars and go with the dynasty.
