Day By Day By Grace (365 Daily Devotions)

This devotional has been feeding my soul and causing me to more deeply understand and appreciate and apply God's wonderful grace. I started to use it in the middle of last year and am using it again this year. It is becoming a favorite devotional for me. I have read just the introduction at least 3 times and plan to read it more! I am so thankful I came across the gem of a devotional.

I began reading the daily devotions by Bob Hoekstra via email, then purchased the book middle of last year. There is a lot to learn and/or refresh day-by-day. Sometimes, as a Christian, we get caught up in the "do" and "don't" lists. We forget it's about God's saving Grace and keeping Grace. I like to make notes and highlight things, but started out just reading these. This year, as I opened it up to January, I decided it was time to start marking it up. Besides marking it up, I copy a lot of phrases, paragraphs and even pages into my journal. I find it helps me to absorb what's being said. I recommend this book whole-heartedly for those who wish to find out more about what being in God's grace means.

Provided an expanded explanation of grace backed by scripture. From this devotional, I learned that if I limit the meaning of grace to “receiving that which I don’t deserve”, I’m missing out on other critical aspects that grace offers to help navigate us through our journey.

Bob Hoekstra never seems to disappoint. The more I listen and read his material repeatedly the more knowledge of God increases.

Bob Hoekstra is an amazing teacher with a daily message of the Gospel of Grace. I highly recommend it for anyone searching for a mature faith focusing on a true gospel message of salvation by grace apart from works and learning to walk in grace as a believer.

I love Bob Hoekstra. This is a meaty devotional for serious Christians or for those who want to grow.

These devotions are thoroughly encouraging. Bob's style is simple, helpful and Scriptural. There are frequent reminders of what one has learnt so far as one goes through the book, which really helps to remember and apply the important points. These devotions have helped me to properly understand many key points that I had not seen clearly before. Crucially, they are all centred on God's grace, which is so encouraging as the emphasis is on what He has done and is doing, and not on our own, insufficient resources. Probably the best devotions I have read so far.
