Solid as a Rock and Overall Fantastic Board with Great Feel and Sound
Intro:Me and this keyboard had a rocky start at first after FedEx managed to severely crush the keyboard during the delivery process. The keyboard was bent, four keys were broken, and the plastic casing was popped open. I was bummed. HOWEVER, not only did the keyboard still work after this abuse but Leopold processed my return for free and had another board out to me very quickly.Product review:This. Board. Feels. Amazing. Now, I haven't tried out a Ducky, or a Filco, or a custom keyboard, but I've tried many Corsairs and let me tell you that if you type on a Leopold even once you'll think your Corsair is inferior. This thing feels SO SOLID. Build quality is top notch, and the implementation is executed perfectly. The key caps are very thick and have a slight textured feel to them which I like quite a lot after using my "grease slicked" smooth Corsair caps :DI really wanted to be picky for this keyboard purchase when it comes to sound and feel, and I'm more than satisfied. I have Cherry MX Reds on mine and I have no regrets whatsoever. The sound level is in between a Corsair Cherry Red, and a Corsair Cherry Silent! That's right, this board is so dummy thicc it turns a clacky Red switch into a docile and extra satisfying Cherry Silent-ish. There is a slight raspy sound as the key is depressed from the friction in the Cherry components, but it is not overwhelming, and it is even pleasant on this board. I have heard that it goes away with more use, but I'm really not worried about it, and I'm the worrying type. The space bar and function keys that need to use stabilizers are very silent and have no plastic clattering as they're used; very nice touch. What you might not know about this board is that it has a sound dampening mat installed inside the case to soften noises and remove the metallic "ringing" that some boards have when the key is allowed to slam upward (which this board has NONE of). I went the next step and cut an XL mouse pad to size and placed my Leopold on it which keeps the sound from transferring into my desk; works well! The only improvement I would make is to have the cable plug in on the back of the keyboard instead of the underside.

A modern typing experience in a 1995-style package
I've been typing on mechanical keyboards for years now. I've always preferred a linear switch, and Cherry MX Reds have the best feel to me. For the past six or seven years now, I've been typing on a Ducky Shine DK9008S. It's a great keyboard and I still use it at work. I recently put together a new system and it's a white-themed build, so I wanted something to match. I've also always been a fan of the old school keyboard colors and wanted something unassuming but have it still be a performer. This keyboard delivers in all aspects. Typing on it feels great, as well as gaming. The keyswitches are nice and responsive and are even quieter than my Ducky due to the sound dampening pad inside underneath the switches themselves. The only small gripe I would say I have is that they spacebar is more sensitive than I am used to, but I have already begun to adjust to it while using the board. There is a function key that controls a few built-in functions (new page, mute, volume up/down). I do miss my dedicated Windows Explorer, Calculator, and webpage macro keys on my Ducky but it's not a deal breaker for me. If you're looking for something with top build quality and a great feel, you can't go wrong with this keyboard.
