Wow!!
I am a person that normally reads reviews before buying a product, and it was no different with this purchase. We have two Labradors, one that just turned 11 and the other is 1. I made this purchase to use more as a training aid for our 1 year old to break him of some unwanted habits that we weren't being successful with as part of our normal training. As most young labs are prone to do, he loves to put everything in his mouth outside, plus likes to take shoes, and remote controls. Reviews were mixed on this particular item with people saying it didn't work at all to others saying it worked great. In the end it seemed like a product that worked to some level and was very easy to use, so, decided it was worth a try for $30.The day we got it, which by the way came early by a day or two, I had the chance to use it. Our 1 year old had taken a shoe and would not release it. I gave him many repeated commands to leave it, but he wanted to play with it. I pushed the button for less than a second and WOW, it worked like a charm. I could not believe it, he dropped the shoe right away, and came by my side. In the few weeks we have had it, we have only had to use it a handful of times. It has worked every time on him. He now listens and responds to our commands much better. If he is starting to perform a behavior we don't want, and he won't respond to our verbal commands all we really need to do is show him the control and he obeys. It has been a great addition to our training.Having two dogs, we did have concern with using this to train our 1 year old and it accidentally also affecting our 11 year old that might be within range. It is a dilemma you will have to work out if you do have two dogs. However, for us it appears as it does not affect our 11 year old. We have used it a couple times when our 11 year old has been in range of our 1 year old, and it doesn't seem to phase him. So, I am not sure if it is his age and his hearing is not as good as it used to be and this frequency doesn't affect him, or, he is just a salty old man who has a tolerance to it. :-) Not sure, and we never have reason to use it on him, so, I don't know if holding the button longer would affect him. So, to the point other reviewers made this may not work on all dogs. Our neighbor has two dogs as well (Rottweiler and Rottweiler mix), and one is a barker when he is outside and sees someone. They have been frustrated, because they have not been able to correct him of it and have even used a training shock collar. That has worked, but not consistently. So, instead of being able to have the dog outside with them, they usually keep him in the house because of the barking. We were outside talking, and the dog started barking when they saw us, and I told them about this device and about the success we had with it on our 1 year old. He asked if he could try it, and he went over to their deck where their dog was barking pushed the button for less than a second and their dog stopped barking right away.I have no feedback on battery life. It takes 2 AAs, and we have used it so little I don't know how long they should or will last. The only negative thing I have noticed is it is easy to accidentally press the control button if you have it in your pocket or aren't paying attention to how you are carrying it. It doesn't take a lot to press it down, as the button is basically flush with the case. So, watch out for that.Overall we are happy with this purchase, and our results to this point have been great. It is doing what we hoped it would for helping us in our training.

Ineffective and Unreliable Dog Barking Deterrent Device
I recently purchased the Ultrasonic Dog Barking Deterrent Device in hopes of controlling my dog's excessive barking, but unfortunately, it has proven to be highly ineffective and unreliable. This device falls short in delivering on its promises and does not provide the desired results.First and foremost, the device's effectiveness in deterring barking is questionable at best. Despite claims of being able to control barking for dogs of all sizes, it has had little to no impact on my dog's barking behavior. The ultrasonic sound emitted by the device seems to have no effect whatsoever, making it essentially useless in addressing the barking problem.Furthermore, the bark control range of only 16.4 feet is extremely limited. This severely restricts the device's functionality and makes it practically useless in outdoor settings or larger indoor spaces. In situations where my dog barks from a distance or in larger areas, this device fails to provide any deterrent effect. The overall build quality and reliability of the device are also disappointing. The device feels flimsy and cheaply made, lacking the durability necessary for long-term use. Additionally, the device's battery life is unsatisfactory, requiring frequent replacements and adding to the ongoing cost and inconvenience. The LED indicator, meant to provide feedback on the device's operation, is inconsistent and unreliable. There have been instances where the LED failed to indicate whether the device was functioning correctly or not, leaving me uncertain of its status. The inclusion of a wrist strap is a minor consolation, but it does little to compensate for the device's overall ineffectiveness and lack of reliability. In conclusion, the Ultrasonic Dog Barking Deterrent Device is an extremely disappointing product that fails to deliver on its promises. Its ineffectiveness in controlling barking, limited range, poor build quality, unreliable LED indicator, and short battery life make it a regrettable purchase. I would not recommend this device to anyone seeking an effective and reliable solution for managing their dog's barking behavior.Investing in alternative training methods or seeking professional guidance would likely yield far better results in addressing excessive barking issues.
