I have to give the author and the vendor a huge Thank you. German Shepherds are a very easy breed to train however, they can be a handful and can get themselves in trouble as a puppy (e.g. chewing, destroying furniture (and this book) etc.). This book helped me so much at each stage of his development. The author hits it right on the nose with the timing of what ages they can become difficult. This book gives you great advice that will coach you through all the tough times you might have with your new pup.This is the most crucial time in training, when they are puppies, so you owe to your sanity and your dog to get this book. Believe me! So many poor dogs go to shelters and get put down simply because the owner didn't learn how to care for the dog. The fact the your reading this proves that you have the dedication it takes to own a dog. Buy this book you won't regret it.I wish a you new puppy parents the best! It can be difficult, but the joy a German Shepherd can bring to your family once well trained is well worth the effort.

I love love love this book. It gives you a month by month review of what behaviors your German Shepherd will have and you go into the month thinking nope not my fur kid but wait for it because they develop those behaviors and the book gives you ways to deal and train your puppy. This is an absolutely wonderful companion to have when raising a German Shepherd puppy and it's filled with wonderful information. I find myself reading a month ahead and then going back and re-reading the chapter of the month my puppy is in. I highly recommend this book.

My fiancé has always wanted a German shepherd, so I finally agreed earlier this year. I’ve always had smaller breeds so I wanted some good resources to help me understand this breed and have a well behaved dog. I bought several books but after 5 months, this is the only one I use! This book has been so helpful and accurate! It breaks everything down for each month so well. We read each chapter a few weeks before our puppy hits that stage so we know what to expect. If you’re new to the breed, buy this book!

I was very happy with this book. I purchased it for background information on the breed when I purchased my GSD, since I’ve never had one before. The book contains a lot of great information about feeding, growth expectations, and training tips. It is also set up from birth on, so you can check in month to month. I would highly recommend this book, if like me you are new to the breed.

It has a lot of good information. Many helpful tips. Since its set up month to month you don't feel obligated to read the entire thing all upfront. We've trained another dog previously and it still had some training ideas that have been helpful and didn't know about.

I love the format of this book, it breaks up advice and to-dos by month and makes training your puppy feel manageable!

Really wish I would have gotten this when we first got our GS puppy a lot of headaches would have been avoidedAnd we have an at home trainer and have been taking him to puppy school(reputable)At 7 months he is still a handful (a huge one LOL), but with just one week of reading and practicing(I’m up to month 6) he has really changed. The info is very useful and well organized. I like the fact that you don't have to read the whole book at once. The info is broken down by the age of the pup. So if you have a 4 month old pup you can just read that specific section and most of the info about your 4 month old is right there.

I hate reading books at the best of times, but with a new puppy arriving in just under a weeks time I thought I best get to it. This is actually a really really good book, I'm highly engaged when reading it because of the way in which the author has written the book. I would say it's an American author, but it still makes no difference when it comes to training your German Shepherd Dog (GSD). I love the fact its broken down in months, I did skip the 1st and 2nd month because that's when the dog is with the breeder.You must buy this book if you have a GSD that needs training from 8 weeks onwards.

Very reassuring bible, as my pup and I set out on our lives together. Clearer than others I had skimmed through.

Bought this ready for welcoming home our new puppy. Packed out with information, but not too overwhelming. Not read all of it as I think it seems best to read in stages as puppy grows but so far so good! Helped pick the puppy

Some of the training is about living in America but the basic training is good it easy to understand and I taught my German Shepherd from a puppy to a year old all most fully train

Very well written however, some conflicting information. Otherwise a useful book, just do more reading for a well rounded store of information.
