Amazon Fresh, Creamy Almond Butter, 27 Oz (Previously Happy Belly, Packaging May Vary)

Amazon Fresh Almond Butter (formerly named Happy Belly) is, at present, a good buy. The jar I just got last week needed stirred but while it was more solid on the bottom had no huge hard chucks at the bottom. So easy to stir to combine the oils into more solid part. I like to use it in no- bake recipes where it often replaces the butter or oil and eggs. I really like to make no-bake 2 ingredient almond butter cookies using maple syrup (monkfruit based maple extract based syrup). With just a little stirring to combine and then divide and shape cookie shapes you can quickly make some cookies. Delicious with 100% cocao chips or dark chocolate chips. They are so good you have to be careful not to overeat them. Have to remember it is nut butter while nutritious, it is very high in calories. I started making one big cookie with 2 TBSP serving size. That way I'm only eating the serving size. Give it a try, there is no unneccessary oils or sugars added to it. Just almonds ground into butter.

I have ordered this item before, I have never had any issue with it until this last item. There was no separation of oil and almonds but there was a large clump of almond which does not want to break down in the middle of container. Usually, this kind of clumpage occurs when the product has expired or is expiring. Unfortunately, the expiration date is badly stamped on the container so I could not determine Best Used date.Not sure if I will purchase this again in the future, the clump in middle might mean there is waste.

The almond butter mass was very hard, surrounded by oil. I had to dump it into a big bowl and use my stick blender (which got very hot in the process) to beat it down. My husband had to hold onto the bowl while I worked the blender. It was a 2 man operation and took 30 minutes to make it spreadable. Now it's fine and tastes good. It's several months away from expiration. Is it always like this?

This is a great buy. Amazing taste, great price, and containing the only ingredient there should be - almonds. The solid portion tends to sediment at the bottom, and it winds up getting packed very tightly, so it is difficult to mix in with the oil at the top. However, this is how pure nut butters behave. Many people (me included) are used to seeing an entirely semi-solid product from other vendors, but this is because the butter has been emulsified with additives such as hydrogenated compounds. These also taste different from pure nut butter due to added salt, sugar, etc. It's important to check the label to see the ingredient list. Do not pour off the oil; mix it in with the solid portion (it takes some effort. It took me two instances). The mixed butter is runny - this is normal.

All nut butters Are Naturally Oily, and I am suspicious of nut butters that are not oily . I love the taste, the lack of extra sugar and salt. It tastes like almonds, in spite of what distractors say, and good almonds. I did get one leaky package out of three so far, so freaking what?For the price, the quality is great. This is a semi-healthy nut butter (much better than PB for instance, not as good as walnuts for health. It is a a tasty treat, almost a snack.-------------------------------9/21/21Since writing this review, I've run into one bad tasting jar, of of seven total, one other was slightly off. But I threw 2/3 of the bad one away (yep, that bad). The other 5 were great for the price.

Holy "I'm going to go HEALTHY sugar-free", Batman! The search was ON! Find a nut butter (I HATE peanut butter but needed it for my healthy smoothies) with no sugar that DOESN'T cost $35?!?! Thank you, Amazon, for saving the day and my tummy! When I say I HATE peanut butter, I mean I LOATHE IT but HAD to find something for protein with no sugar and here it is! Did I do a little dance in my kitchen when I first tried it in my smoothie/shake and it rocked AND tasted good? You better believe it! It does have the oil on the top which is NORMAL for NATURAL nut butter and it was a little hard to mix but SOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it! Make sure the lid is on tight and store it in the fridge upside down! You're welcome!
