I enjoyed my first taste of Yerba Mate in my new El Matero Jujube wood mate gourd. It is well made and easy to clean. The bomblilla works well. The Jujube wood is very attractive. I will buy another one for sure.

I love gourds for my mate, but I understand they are difficult to keep clean and they do not usually last very long. This one is an excellent substitute if you don't want to fight mold away. I forgot to empty my mate once, and it was full of leaves for about three days. No mold or smell, I cleaned it in a few seconds, and it was ready to go.

From my husband:This is a beautiful gourd! You can tell that the craftsman has a passion for the work! It’s sealed watertight and hasn’t had any problems with hot water. No warping or discoloration. I can’t tell you how many comments I’ve had on it at work! Granted, some of these comments have also included:“Oh, you’re having spit tea again.”“What is that?!”“Is that weed?!”“I see that you’re enjoying your drinkable weed again.”“Nice cup!”“Nice gourd!” (From a fellow mate drinker)

Still going strong. Just empty the mate within the same day and it holds up great. I don't use it in the dishwasher though so I'm not sure if it would last there.A little big for single person use in my opinion. If you feel it 3/4 and add boiling water, sometimes it can oversteep before it's cool enough to drink. So fill accordingly. Awesome for groups.

After ordering it the first Gourd had a hairline crack all the way down the side. In the email they mentioned occasionally having trouble with rough handling in shipping. After replying to their email with a picture, they contact me within the same day and a replacement arrived very quickly with no cracks.It fits in the bag very snug, so I could see it cracking if placed inside it too quickly, but the size is perfect for it to sit on my desk at work, and the straw works great.

This was a gift for my daughter and she really liked it. El Matero was very proactive and sent a message on arrival making sure the mate arrived in good condition. Then there was a follow up message making sure I was satisfied. My daughter really likes it because it is easier to lean than her old mate. I will probably order one for myself soon.

I've had it for almost a month now. I was using it a lot in the beginning but now I'm taking a break, too much Mate hahaIt's a little delicate, I was trying to wash it gently but even so it peeled off a bit on one side. It's not a lot, but I can assume that with use it will peel a lot more :/Still happy with the purchase though. Keep in mind it can peel easily after daily use.

on the plus side super easy to clean, the only error i think this company made is that they made the opening of the cup too big,, you have to pour a huge amount of yerba, also being that it is open to big pouring in your water makes the whole thing flood thus not keeping the other side dry, seems to be well made tho.
