The ease of operation.
This faucet filter is wonderful compared to the horizontal faucet filter. It isn’t in your way, is easy to attach and detach. I love it.

Pur water faucet filter mount
Good looking, I had a problem with the adapters being too small, but Pur sent out the right size.

Works great
Works great except for the taste. I have a well which has a high mineral content so I think the filter that adds minerals makes it taste weird. Looking for a replacement filter without the mineral core. I’m sure I can find one. Other than that it works really well and was very easy to install. My only other complaint is that I got the chrome one because I’m trying to reduce my exposure to plastic. Unfortunately it’s made of chromed plastic. If they made one of metal I would be happy to pay more for it.

Amazing
I've been complaining to my husband for almost two years that our Portland, OR municipal water tastes weird. He is from California, the land of bottled water everywhere, and was under the impression our water was safe to drink. Well, then why does it taste so nasty, and why does it make me feel equally nasty? Then I read about lead issues around here, and the debate about "cleaning" the water is that the chemicals added to prevent lead leech are untested. Now that I'm pregnant I've been extra susceptible to just about everything. I can smell and taste *everything*. I've been adding all kinds of powders and MIOs to cover the taste but that doesn't hide that it just makes me feel sick to my stomach. So I've been asking him to please let the water run for 30 seconds before filling the water jug so we're not drinking water sitting in pipes; and then that turned into stop closing the jug so the chlorine can evaporate. Eventually I had enough, pregnancy makes me thirsty af, drinking the municipal water was making me feel gross, and I'm literally drinking so much gatorade I should buy stock options. So I overnighted this baby. We hooked it up (super easy, see below) and let it run for the 5 minutes before he filled a cup and gave it a try. He looked at me with a grimace and said "it tastes different," and I got worried thinking the filter gave it a weird flavor and I wouldn't be able to handle it with my bionic sense of taste. So I tasted it and it was wonderful! The way water should taste! Not like I scooped a cupful out of the local swimming pool! I asked him what he meant, and apparently tasting the filtered water really drove home how gross that municipal water really was. Eventually we'll start on one of those jug services since not even the best PUR filter can get out all the chlorine (fun fact I learned on the back of the PUR box: the cleaning solution (chlorine) has more potential health hazards than all of the contaminants it is supposedly eradicating.)Rec'd yesterday, so I will update in the future if need be:So far: hook up was a breeze. The box included 4 potential faucet adapters, with weird instructions that said "try 1, if not 1, try 2, etc." Well, it was pretty obvious that the first two were for external threads, and the second 2 were for internal threads. Took about 2 seconds to deduce we would need option 3 for our faucet. After that, you just put the filter into the chamber, and pop the whole shabang onto the faucet (once the adapter is attached.)

Pur
Well, what can I say - it is PUR, so I do love the product. It does take up precious sink space, but you can push the product to the side to at least 'appear' like you still have the sink pace - but you are not going to be able to fill up any gallon water pitchers. Also, what I did not expect was that the purified water side - or the side the water comes out is slower, therefore, filling up a water pitcher is not cost effective unless you find something skinny and short enough to fit under your PUR in order to fill the gallon water pitcher. I will have to find a way to do this. So, right now, I am filling canning jars with the purified water and placing them in the refrigerator in order to have cold purified drinking water, since my freezer is filled with food, thereby, never having any space for ice cube trays. I had to weigh the consequences - ice trays or food? I live in an apartment (but will soon buy my own full size refrigerator), therefore, I am a bit limited. It is not a real small refrigerator, but a larger size refrigerator that most - for a two bedroom apartment - if you are able to get the jest of it.October 14, 2013I am returning to say this: When I first wrote my previous review, I did not know that I was able to remove the Pur product to fill larger containers of water. However, though I am able to squeeze my gallon pitcher into the sink to fill it with purified water by tipping it to the side a bit, in order to fill it....it does take quite a bit of time to do so. That is the only draw back about the Pur. But, after tasting the purified water, it is all worth it. Filling up the gallon pitcher allows me to multi-task as the water is filling - about 3+ minutes or so. So, to make it all easier and worthwhile, do something else in the kitchen while you are filling your gallon pitcher with water. I am someone who does not like to waste time...as time is the only thing that you are not able to retrieve. :-)So, this product still remains at 5 Stars and no less. You just have to compromise a bit.
