ECW on TNN Complete DVD Set

I love this set. If you’re an ECW fan this is a must have.

I've wanted to upgrade my vhs copies of ECW on TNN for a long timebut, then i remember the TNN tv deal was such a strange time in ECW lifespanI remember being so excited for the debut of ECW on TNN the debut alone was a sign this was doomed from the startThey showed old PPV footage and hardcore tv stuff during there first national tv showOnce they showed TNN "exclusive" stuffIt wasn't the same ECW with 911 Choke Slamming people or Shane Douglas shooting on Ric Flair and the Kliq , or 3-way iron man matchesIt was trying to be sports entertainment not pro wrestlingIt's not bad but, it's very odd (For any pro wrestling fan who remember the Monday Night War)By the time ECW got a official national tv deal on TNN (the tv deal was a three year deal)There was over saturation in pro wrestling mostly due to WWF and WCWThe TNN deal would help put the nail in the coffin for ECW along with WWF taking over on the TNNTNN would be re branded as Spike tv (which would air RAW for years then pick up TNA's ImpactECW was used as a pure test run for TNN/Spike to get there feet wet in Pro WrestlingPaul Heyman knew this since by this point he was already working for the WWFHeyman would be getting payed good while he starved out his employees didn't pay anyone for the last year ECW was running showsThe biggest thing any die hard new/old fans of ECW should knowECW on TNN was a very watered down ECW the network censored them and wanted the ECW Brand to be like WCW and WWFThey even created a story line where Cyrus the Virus would be from TNN offices during live tapings to make sure the people producing ECW were doing right by the network (Cool behind the scene shoot style idea)There are fan cam shows of the TNN tapings uneditedThis is both interesting and very sad mostly cause this deal had no real point ECW was a rogue underground movementPutting it out in a national spotlight in this way was a sure disaster! You can't help but, wonder if all this was a master plan forPaul Heyman to get good with Vince McMahon and help secure the WWF a national network deal on TNNIn the end when ECW on TNN was canceled it was another death blow to a company that helped change everything but, was never fully appreciated or respected

This set features every episode of ECW on TNN from August 1999 to October 2000 on 15 2 disc sets. Easily one of my best purchases. This is an RF Video release, and the picture quality is really good. I was an avid viewer of this program and it's cool to go back and relive it week by week. Highly recommended.
