The best for dog hair
This vacuum is perfect for getting up dog hair. Our dog sheds very bad and this vacuum is so powerful, it gets it all up. We are very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone with pets.

Not what is pictured but it is the same.
At first, I thought they had sent me the wrong vacuum. But the model number on Amazon and the model number on Hoover.com matches. The pictures on Hoover's site matches what I received. So, the model in the pictures on Amazon must be a prier model. But still they should update the pictures on Amazon to prevent confusion like I had. The vacuum does what it says very well. We have dogs. Lots of them and it got the pet hair up and the brush roll had very little to no hair on it at all, so I'm pleased with that. The canister is easy to empty, just don't pack it so full that you have to dig it out with something, and it'll fall right out into the trash can. The little vacuum tool that's brush roll is powered by the suction doesn't do a whole lot as it will stop with little pressure, but it does suck up dirt and hair. The crevice tool worked best for me around furniture though. The vacuum cleaner doesn't maneuver around as well as a swivel head type does but it's not a beast to use either. Cord length is good. Maybe not the longest in the industry but acceptable. All in all, after making sure I received the right one I'm happy with it. Got it on sale so that was a plus. Dyson might be better, but this was cheaper, and it sucks. Pun intended. Cheers.

Different than the last one, but still a go!
I bought this same vacuum 4 - 5 years ago. I won't buy anything else as long as I have carpet, but you know how that goes, over time things become less reliable and more cheaply made so let's see how it goes. Still heavy to take upstairs and downstairs but that's what the three men in my house are for, lol. Since my cats are downstairs for the most part, that's where I mostly use it. Really is excellent for getting up hairs, especially the roller attachment on cat trees. I empty the case and wipe with chlorox wipes after each use.Pros:-Suction is still great. Best of any vacuum I've ever had.-Still the longest cord, I can go almost the whole length of my downstairs before having to plug into another room. Common sense tip: keep the cord out of the way, don't run vacuum over your cord, it will strip the cord.-Still a washable filter. Helps to prevents odors.Cons-None of the attachments work really well for carpeted stairs. They need a flat hard trapezoid one. I have an attachment from a previous vacuum that fits, I use that.-Attaching the top and bottom of dirt case parts was annoying, causing the alignment to the base extremely difficult.-Not present in the last one: when you detach the hose to use attachments, previously vacuumed pet hair starts coming out of the suction hole. There should be some sort of cap to put there when. I just stick one of the attachments in there but it doesn't cover the hole completely. Going to use tape going forward. While not a deal breaker, it really is a design flaw (this is why 4 stars this time around)-The small round silicone flap covering the on-off button is annoying, you have to press the cap in a particular spot for it to turn on. The flap also was one of the first things to shred on my last vacuum. Also a design flaw.-the plastic used this time around seems to be a dust magnet, this model ends up with dust and hair clinging to the outside when using the attachments. I did notice the non-base parts were lighter, cheapy-feeling, when putting together. I will recheck to see if there's any suction leaks.-more expensive than the last time I bought it, almost 50% moreThe last one lasted me about 4 years. Let's see if this one does.

Collecting dust in my closet, poor customer service
I bought this vacuum two years ago and it broke almost right away. Because it's "just the power switch and not the roller brush" or other parts of the vacuum, I've been getting the absolute worst customer service. They want me to haul it out of state to a repair center because the warranty specifies that they don't replace switches or cords. It's hard to tell because when their customer service center finally opens at 9am on Mondays, you're directed to someone who just "mmhmm" and "okay" and "I understand" responds to your questions and frustrations, and there's always a language barrier.I work 24 hour shifts as a paramedic and can't spend an hour on the phone trying to replace my $200 vacuum that only worked twice before it stopped working and the switch caved in on itself. So, no, technically the roller brush itself didn't break, but if you can't turn it on, the brush is broken too. Even though the customer service rep told me very sarcastically, "at least it isn't a problem with the vacuum, just the power switch." I bought a warranty through Amazon and was attempting to wait until the useless Hoover warranty finally ended so I could get it replaced through Amazon, but apparently now it'll be 5 years before I can do that. Excellent length of coverage, but no quality in the warranty itself and extremely poor customer service. They will completely dismiss you if it's "just" the power switch and will then ask for video proof of the non-functional vacuum, right before you still have to drive 45 minutes out of state to a repair place. It's extremely convoluted. I've called 20+ times and every time I call, they get all sassy and say, "This is obviously your first time calling, let me create an account for you." Where are my 20+ other calls where I've sat on the phone giving the same info and expressing the same frustrations for 30-60+ minutes each? It gets to a point where you don't call. This $200 (+ extra warranty) vacuum is collecting dust in my closet. Customer service is unhelpful, the hours you can call are extremely limited, they seem to want to frustrate and confuse you in an attempt to not replace their faulty products. So now I have to come to Amazon and be a Karen to get their attention. Hoover, your vacuum broke two years ago and you think it's cute that the warranty doesn't cover the power switch. The POWER SWITCH. And it isn't just the switch. The power died while I was using the vacuum and then the switch became loose when I tried to turn it back on. Fixing the switch won't fix the vacuum. It was a good vacuum the two times that I got to use it before the power stopped during the second use. When it died and I tried to turn it back on again, the switch was "crunchy" and loose. I called the same day and here I am on March 20, 2025 with the same issue. I bought the vacuum April 4, 2023. It died around April 10, 2023. My last call to Hoover support was yesterday, March 19, 2025, with no resolution. In summary, product itself was good. Powerful suction on my carpet floors, having extra tools for pet hair was important to me because I have four cats (three at the time of purchase, one with long hair and one black cat whose fur clumps very obviously on my tan carpets) and I was happy with how it picked up with one pass. I loved the "headlights" on it. Good capacity and easy to assemble and easy to empty. However, it broke almost immediately and support has been the worst experience I've ever had with customer service and the warranty seems to have meant nothing. I have NEVER written a negative review to call out poor customer service like this, but I feel like I've been patient enough. As for value for your money, consider that while the product was good while it lasted, I only got two uses out of it, have spent hours of my life on the phone with customer service with no resolution, and had to buy a couple of cheaper vacuums so I could have something "temporarily" while waiting for my Hoover to be replaced. I'd call that a terrible value.
