Soy inglesa así que el idioma no ha sido un problema, pero creo que el libro sirve para gente que no habla inglés también porque se puede mirar la gran cantidad de fotos y es bastante obvio a qué se refiere cada una (hay fotos de la familia de cada niño/niña, sus mejores amigos, su juguete preferido, su comida preferida, su pueblo, y algunos otros objetos importantes en su vida). Eso sí, se perderá algunos detalles si no entiende nada de inglés. Mi hija (5 años) lo quiere leer todas las noches a la hora de dormir, y cada noche descubrimos una niña o un niño de un país lejano. Lo recomiendo al 100%. De hecho, creo que es muy importante que los niños lo lean!

I purchased this book for my grandchildren ages 9 & 5. I wanted to review it before I sent it on and was very facinated by the stories, the pictures, the layout of the book. It is an easy read for everyone. I haven't heard from the grandchildren yet so cannot report on their assessment of the book. There is a set of "tin children" from the book available that really looks like the childrent in the book. I found the "tin children" in a Good Will store so I cannot tell where they are available. It was the "tin children" that lead me to order the book.

The reason behind buying this book was that it was the inspiration for me to go travelling when I was older- aged six! So far I've been to New Zealand, America, lots of Europe, Ghana and there's still more to come! I wanted to see different cultures and this (published in 1995) allowed me to do this. But I never owned the book and whenever we went to the local library it was the first book I would pick up- that and 'Celebration' in the same series of DK.It's a fantastic book to get kids interested in other people and brings it home to them how everyone is so similar- it even shows what the children's favourite toys are, from a tin racing car to a pet lamb!So I'd recommend to everyone just so that kids just get an interest.
