A GREAT PIECE OF KIT
This strap is really awesome man!!. Got it today itself and was stunned by trying the locking mechanism which is spectacular and it really secures your precious guitar. But there is a flaw..the strap is not that wide and it may cause back pain. Otherwise its great...

Wrong product. Not locking strap.
This was not a locking strap. It's just a regular strap. I have no idea why they have the wrong picture and product name listed. I returned mine. Asked for the correct one. Got the wrong one again. Returned it. Got a refund. Don't waste your time ordering this.

Value for money
Its very nice and sturdy. Works both for electric as well as acoustic guitars. Although acoustic guitars which don’t have strap button on upper side can use it with the help of a tiny rope on the top of the neck. Build quality is nice and so is the length.

Locking feature is the key
Good strap lock. But the lock-slider is not smooth. It, sometimes, needs a strong push to unlock.Strap quality is good & color is as shown in the product image.

Go for it.
Good quality and sturdiness is also commendable.

May not fit your guitar
The strap and lock feel solid and seem like they will do the job if they fit on the guitar. However I’ve found the description “fits virtually any guitar” isn’t very accurate.I bought two straps and found they do fit:- Gibson Les Paul- Epiphone SG bass- Ibanez EX seriesThey don’t fit:- Ibanez AF55- Epiphone EJ200I was hoping to swap them about as needed, but looks like they’re not great for hollow body and acoustics.

Robust, secure and comfortable
Nice wide strap to spread the load on my shoulders, very secure (locking) ends, and a fair price for something that gives me peace of mind that the bass isn't going to drop when on stage. Plenty of length in the strap for any future adjustment needs. Much better than the leather ended strap I used before.Beware that if your guitar strap attaches around a 1/4" jack socket on your instrument (e.g. for some acoustic guitars) this probably won't fit. But that's not really what this product is intended for.

Too short!
I’m in the slightly shorter end of average bloke size and this strap is way too short for me! I like my guitars sitting with strings just above belt height so I don’t play super low but even so with this strap at its longest it sits the guitar too highly for me to use live.Looks like I need to buy another strap then...

Does what you'd expect
I've had two of these through my hands. One about two years ago, and this one. The two-year-old one now belongs to a friend, and is still working well. This one looks just as robust. For those who haven't encountered one of these straps, the point of it is in the end-pieces, which have a clever little way of closing themselves around the waist of your guitar's strap buttons, thus ensuring whatever shapes you throw (back to the 80s with a vengeance - sorry) your guitar stays on the strap. The advantage of this strap over, say, the Dunlop or Schaller system obviously is that you don't need to change your strap buttons or modify your strap, and you can use this strap on various guitars (though if you have more than one guitar, you might be able to afford more than one strap, I suppose). The strap itself is reasonably comfortable, made of black (nylon?) webbing and 2" wide. If your guitar is heavy, you might want to add a bit of extra padding (maybe one of those seatbelt things you see sometimes). But the best bit of this item is definitely the end-pieces.

Worth every penny
Brilliant product. Using this on a Fender Nashville Telecaster and the guitar feels so secure and locked in, secured at both ends. Gone are the days of straps slipping causing damage to your instrument or strap locks snapping.

Good locking mechanism
Very good. Fitted to epiphone explorer, locking mechanism works well, only slightly worried about the locking mechanism rubbing against the body of the guitar but hasn't happened yet.

Beware when using with acoustic guitar
This is a good quality strap for its price. My only issue is really with my particular guitar - an electro-acoustic where the 'neck' strap button is under the heel of the guitar, which means that the rigid plastic locking area is sticking out an an angle. This does not get in the way of playing, but does mean the guitar will not fit in its case without removing the strap - a minor detail really, but I wonder whether constant locking and unlocking of the strap, will cause the lock component to break. I will update review if this happens. It does seem ok at the moment.

Great locking strap.
While it took me a while to work out how the strap lock worked, once I did it is a great product.Using it on my most expensive guitar for practice and soon to be gigging. It is robust and feels more secure than many other similar products.

Nice but....
I like this strap with it's locking ends. So what's the problem ...only 4 stars. The strap is quite light and possibly too light for my electric guitar. The guitar keeps slipping on my shoulder(not in any danger of falling)It would need something to grip with. I've seen sleeves to fit on straps(I have two on my camera bags but wouldn't fit this strap and I won't take the off my camera bags) However, i have seen them and will see about getting one. The problem is I shouldn't have to do that and I shouldn't be disappointed.

Planet Waves Guitar strap
The locking feature is large and did not swivel without catching otherwise 5 stars. Needs redesign of locking feature..

Excellent, but a bit too short
Very simple strap with a secure locking mechanism. My only gripe is that it's a little too short. I'm 5'10 and play a Fender Jazz and I like it low slung. It'll go as low as waist height, but with the strap at maximum length so the adjuster is right near the strap button. Another 2-4 inches would be ideal.

Does its job!
Standard nylon strap with added plastic+rubber strap locks. The side which comes into contact with the guitar is made out of a softer rubber do minimise scratching. Hold up quite nicely to standard playing stress (which is what it is meant for) and I've no plan to test its limits.

The idea behind this strap is excellent with the way that it locks around the strap ...
The idea behind this strap is excellent with the way that it locks around the strap buttons. The only downside is the comfort of the strap itself. It feels a bit uncomfortable to the skin but this can easily be rectified by some padding. The plastic on the locking system seems sturdy, but I have only had it for a couple of weeks so it remains to be seen if it lasts. It does a good job of holding the guitar in place. For the money it does what it's supposed to do.

5 star lock 3star strap
You know what it's like you spend LOTS of money on your beautiful guitar, the last thing is for the strap to come off and hit the floor. This locking strap fits very well on my Epiphone Dot, and hold very well. The strap is strong but soft I would have prefered a heavier guage material, but I went for the cheaper one, ace for an acustic, but spend a bit more if you have any weight to support.

I like this, a lot.
I really like this strap since it makes me feel safe around my guitar (unlike my previous one, a nonlocking one which tend to unhinge quite A LOT).EDIT: I've updated my review to account for the comparison between this and the other locking straps from Planet Waves, which while they feature the same mechanism, are much softer and cause much less fatigue on you.
