Took me ages to finally order the slicer. I was sooo excited to try it out. Two wires broke the very first time I used it. I guess my advice would be to go very slowly and make sure that all the wires are lined up with the grooves before applying any pressure.

Garbage, didn't even slice ONCE, and super short return/exchange window. AVOID.
Broke with the first press of its first use. Total garbage. Went to ask for a replacement but they made their return times super short so they ripped me off instead. No method of getting a return or exchange with this seller. AVOID.

Not bad for a basic slicer. Won't last forever but at least the cutting assembly detaches from the rest of the unit.
I received this product free for review but as always, despite receiving a free product I'm perfectly candid in my review. My observations follow below in more or less chronological order.* This calls itself a mozzarella cutter but essentially it's an egg slicer.* The slicing wires are 1/3 inch apart* Pretty standard construction really, the wires to do the cutting are pretty thin so they'll take some pressure but this sucker isn't going to last a lifetime. The wires will break under much more than an egg's worth of pressure. As someone who has broken an egg slicer trying to cut mushrooms, trust me on this.* One nice feature is that the wire assembly can be removed from the plastic section so you can throw the cutters in the dishwasher by themselves and not have to include the plastic mount unit as well.In summary, not bad for a 'basic' slicer. Nothing special but a reasonable low-cost choice.PS: I hope my review was helpful. If it was not, then please let me know what I left out that you’d want to know. I always aim to improve.

excellent for soft cheeses and food
this is a nice basic slicer, good for eggs and soft cheeses. Mozzarella is a soft cheese, if you want to slice a hard cheese you need a different slicer, this will not work and will probably break, because it's not designed for hard food. It's large size and thin wire cutters make it good for over sized button mushrooms also. Some mushrooms are larger than the smaller mushroom/egg slicer.The hinge is easy to close and cuts through soft food very well for nice even slices, perfect for getting fresh mozzarella and slicing it for pizza or Caprese salads.sample provided for review
