Love these caps for my Blackwing and Rhodia pencils. They do not work for my Staedtler ones (the blue one in the middle) and I never use the sharpener, but a great price for what it is.

I don’t care about the pencil sharpener but the pencil tip protectors are great simple solutions to carrying sharpened pencils

These are not "universal", they are designed for a standard pencil like a Dixon Ticonderoga #2 HB. And these are something that dont seems to be available everywhere.Pro=They exist and they work well in general.Con=You have to use either then included sharpener or one like it with a short sharpening distance.I have old school..."literally" vintage old schoolroom sharpeners I bought and love for my office, garage, shed and shop, but they sharpen to a nice long fine point. These caps will not cover the point of a pencil sharpened by a long point pencil sharpener. BUT! Thanks to a smart reviewer I noticed that you CAN double up the caps and that will get you covered for a long point.These are perfect for me because I have given up on mechanical pencils. I am a blue collar guy who keeps both customer's files, a clipboard and also an assortment of tools in my briefcase. It all kind of rattles and shakes around in there but I love a hard side briefcase for just that reason. A high dollar mechanical pencil makes no sense for field use. Either it will get damaged or left behind or stolen on a job site, and cheaper mechanical pencils simply wont hold up to the rigors of "real men doing blue collar work".So I have gone away from the mechanical pencil and back to the old school real wood pencils, because if all else fails, my pocket knife will sharpen them. I carry a small manual sharpener in my briefcase to keep them sharp otherwise. Problem is, sometimes that working man's briefcase gets knocked around and the pencils are damaged. Plus having a handful of sharp pencils rolling around can get your hands and other stuff punctured in there. Real men DO NOT use pencil boxes...they would be laughed off a job site.These caps should protect not only the pencil points in the briefcase, but also the stuff those points could puncture!Also, the included sharpener works surprisingly well. I only sharpened one pencil so far with it, but I started from a blunt brand new pencil and it sharpened just fine. I've had those metal German "bullet" style sharpeners do a worse job than this cheap little plastic thing that came with these tip covers. I put/stashed it in the shavings chamber of the nice manual sharpener I carry in my briefcase so I can stick it in my pocket when I'm away from my briefcase on a job site. Anther great idea that occurred to me as I evaluated this purchase. If that holds up I might actually purchase a bag of those cheap Chinese plastic sharpeners like this one just to have disposable ones.

Does not fit all pencils. Some pencils and smaller and the caps slide right off.

These are great! I use them with all 3 types of Blackwings and the cap fits on the end of my Mono100 HB perfect! I sharpen with the Kum Masterpiece and you don't have to jam the cap all the way down the pencil in order to cover it nicely! If the point is sticky out than you have forced the cap on the pencil too much! IMHO

I don't know why these are so hard to find! Great little caps for you pencils. If you love writing or drawing with pencils, you are probably pretty particular about your pencil tips and know how annoying it can be when the tip gets marred or broken before you were ready to sharpen again.

Excellent way to prevent me stabbing myself with a sharp pencil in my pocket! Arrived sooner than expected. Fab!
