Quieter than competing brands
So, I'm a teacher and finding a pencil sharpener that stands up to the workload of a classroom can be tough. I don't want to spend $60 on a sharpener that will only last a year at most. I decided to try this little battery operated one a couple of weeks ago and let me tell you: this little guy is amazing!Pros:- Not expensive,- quieter than other handheld battery operated sharpeners (I have another that is soooo loud),- it's quick to sharpen a pencil,- will sharpen color pencils,- handheld, not tied to an outletCons:- I kind of wish it came with batteries, but I have a huge box of Amazon Basics batteries so no big dealI don't know how long the batteries will last, but I'll come back to update!

A Pencil ✏️ Sharpener For Everyone, Not Just For Kids
It got to my house very quickly as I was in need of a replacement for the one I broke that I had for years. This one came and as soon as I got it and put the batteries in and I was good to go, I went back to working on my color sketches and sharpening my pencils...it worked perfectly!!!! It’s quiet and I love that I can hold it in my hand because of my dexterity and my hard time of sitting still. I use it for my regular pencils as well. I will be recommending this product to all of my colleagues at school and to all of my students. Thanks so much!!! Y’all are a 5 star ⭐️ product!!!(You do have to put in your own 4 AA batteries🔋 )Btw...for the people who are having a hard time with their pencils and are saying the sharpener is eating their pencils...it’s not their sharpener...it’s the stock from which you bought your pencils from. I learned this the hard way. When your pencils are slammed around and are dropped from the shipping and stocking at the store, it breaks the lead inside. So it’s not the sharpener’s fault so you can’t blame this company for the pencils problem. You need to go back to where you bought your pencils from or the manufacturer of the pencils and talk to them and see what you can do from there. I have literally done this and I have actually gotten a lot of my colored pencils replaced for FREE ALONG WITH MY PENCILS FOR MY CLASSROOM STUDENTS so that I WOULD NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE. So please don’t let one small business ruin your day and please don’t ruin a small business when we should be there to help lift small businesses up. ☺️🦖💕

Solid power with good safety, great size for travel, very easy to clean with no mess when dumping.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. My girl needed a pencil sharper for when she travels, where I found this one with good reviews. The problem with size is the smaller the less power and then the pencil sharpens one sided. This one shaves down perfectly, and without damaging the lead, where these is no waste at all. Very easy to put together and take apart. i love the safety where when the plastic shaving holder comes off, these is no power to the motor, and no chance of shaving off the fingers. I use rechargeable batteries, and this one last a long time where I have not had to recharge yet, and my girl uses it every day. No cons, good quality tech, where I am very happy with the purchase.

Needed a little tinkering but works great now!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. The one I received initially had some big problems. It turns out that the metal contacts were not connecting and that would cause it to stutter as it sharpened. It’s easy to fix. Just remove the 3 screw s to the bottom plate. Remove the larger longer screw in the inside assembly. Use a pair of pliers to pull out the sharpener assembly. Locate the metal contacts. And bend the contact so it’s closer to the mating contact. Problem solved. See the photos for a better explanation.Apart from that the sharpener has been awesome.

Nice compact unit great for your desk
I like to have 2 separate sharpeners so I can have one for color pencils and one for regular pencils. I wanted something that was compact and wouldn't take up a lot of space on my desk. These remind me of the old hand sharpeners but these are electric so you get the best of both words. Compact and electric. So far its been working great for my desk. It's pretty compact so you could even through this in your art bag and take it with you on the go. Great for sketching in the park or the home office you can't really go wrong with this unit.

Garbage!
I went middle of the road didnt get a super expensive electric sharpener and didn't go dirt cheap. This is a waste of money and once i put batteries in it never worked. Super frustrating since the time frame of shipping is not what was prior to the pandemic. I better be able to still return this junk once I am able to leave the house again.

Time for a Pencil Sharpener
Last year at this time, I would not have considered buying a battery-powered pencil sharpener. We might sharpen a pencil once or twice a year and the batteries would probably need to be replaced every time we used it.What a difference a year makes! Now, my 9-year-old grandson and I are wrestling with the intricacies of long division and puzzling over informational essays as he learns while remote from school, and I assist. Lots of pencils in use, and they always seem to be dull and pointless (as are some of the lessons). We both like this new pencil sharpener. It is lightweight and takes up little of the space dedicated to "school" in the living room. Not only does the sharpener work well, but the 9-year-old can easily detach the receptacle full of pencil shavings, empty it and replace it. It has made life much easier.

Outstanding compact electric sharpener for children or professionals
I bought this for my 6 year old daughter, a budding artist. She's sharpened all her school and color pencils and loves it. It's very easy to use, and no broken tips as with manual sharpeners. The sharpener came well packaged, it takes 4 AA batteries but as we use rechargeables and have a ready supply its actually a plus for us. The sharpener is compact, well built. The debris compartment is made of clear close fitting plastic, you can pop it out with a little pressure, but it definitely wont come off by itself. The plastic appears solid of good material. Very well designed and constructed electric sharpener. The motor and gears work smoothly. Very satisfied, just in time for the new school year.

Make sure you have good batteries...
I bought some rechargeable batteries for this, but they are usually only 1.2V; x4 that equates to 4.8V and I found that the sharpener just didn't work at all.I grabbed the odd regular AA battery that I had lying around which were 1.5V each but I found that there wasn't enough power, whilst the sharpener would work, pencils become stuck as there wasn't enough torque.I bought some fresh AA 1.5V batteries and the sharpener works fine.Such a boring review, but make sure you have good batteries!

A solid sharpener, that does its job perfectly
This sharpener is perfect for my needs as poor strength in my hands negates the use of a manual sharpener. It is a solid piece of kit that is easy to set up with batteries and does a brilliant job of sharpening my pencils my pencils to a sharp point, It is so easy to use, is not bulky or heavy, compared to others I have seen and tested out. The large size of the waste unit allows for less emptying and is simple to remove and replace. I have recommended this sharpener to my fellow colourist and artists some if ehom have gone onto purchase one themselves.

Crap
Received it on 17th September and the quality looked good. It sharpened pencils well. The battery in this disappoints. It goes out pretty quick. Today 13th November the sharpner isn't working properly depsite changed new batteries. This is the 4th set of 4X4 Duracell batteries. Very very disappointed. Please don't go by the 5 and 4 star rating on this product. Look for something else.

Not easy to use
I brought this for my daughter that struggled to use it. It requires a strong grip of both pencil and unit to make it work. I found my skin on the inside of my hand twisting (reminded me of Chinese burn). I could use it but daughter aged 12 got frustrated with it. The sharper also seemed to sharp one side more than the other so you also have to twist the pencil round or pull it out and turn it halfway and re-enter.

Maybe I just got a faulty one !!!
I bought this on the strength of its very favourable ratings. However, my experience was very far from being favourable. For about the first half hour I couldn't get it to work at all. Umpteen battery changes made no difference so I asked my wife to start from scratch and see if she could get it to work. For about another 10 minutes she had the same difficulty as me. Then, all of a sudden, there was a vague hint of a noise from within. She persevered and managed to get the sharpener to at least turn the blade and scrape a little bit of wood from a pencil. It was handed back to me and for a while I thought it must just be a question of getting the knack. I managed to get the sharpener to "work" - in the sense that the blade turned - but not actually to sharpen any sort of pencil. The second I applied even a little pressure to the pencil, just to hold it steady, the blade stopped turning. By now about another hour had passed and I realised it wasn't me but the sharpener that was the problem. It just wasn't powerful enough. I tried lots of different types of pencil - graphite and coloured - and it made no difference. Every time I put a pencil in the sharpener started but it stopped as soon as I applied even the lightest of pressure. Net result: not a pencil sharpened after about 1¾ hours of pfaffing around. The sharpener has since found its way back to amazon.
