Because it's not being sold by Amazon or the brand. Anything on Amazon (350 million items) not being sold by Amazon (approximately 20 million items Amazon sells) or the brand itself is being sold by 3rd party sellers. Amazon charges SIGNIFICANT FEES to 3rd party sellers to sell on their glorious platform. So a seller buys 3 packs of these at Target for say $18-$21. At the current buy box price of $37 Amazon's fees are $12 to the seller on top of the product cost. Seller is at $30-$33 already before factoring in overhead and inbound shipping to Amazon. So, a seller makes a $4-$7 profit on a $37 sale before factoring in overhead costs. Not very much, is it???? FREE SHIPPING ISN'T FREE. Amazon didn't become a trillion dollar company by losing money. It makes up Free Shipping by the fees it charges it's 3rd party sellers. Try shipping 3 packs of these to your next door neighbor with Fedex, UPS, or USPS.....the MINIMUM you'll probably be charged is $20, probably closer to $30. This listing sells several hundred times a month despite the "high" price because millions of people don't live near a Target, only shop at Amazon, or just want the convenience of not dealing with people and having the item at their door 24-48 hours after ordering with unquestioned return ability. Also, you'd have to order 5 packs of these at Target to get free shipping. E-commerce in a nutshell.
