I was looking for a jewelry box for my 5 year old. It's my fault entirely that I didn't pay attention to the dimensions but I was shocked at the size of the box that arrived. I opened the box, trying to find a way to make this jewelry box work for my little girl but it was just too big and heavy for me and I returned it. However, I did get a good look at the box as a whole. This is a good jewelry box for an older girl, 10 years old give or take, who is ready to make the leap from a little girl, carry around box to something that will sit on a dresser top. It's sturdy, not some flimsy cardboard thing. The one I received was box was plain brown and I assume the colorful, lavender paper was further inside the box - it was not attached to the box I received. It threw me because I knew the box I ordered was pinky purple. I might buy it again in 5 years.

My 8 year old granddaughter simply loves her musical jewelry box. She plays the music even while taking a bath. I think it makes her feel like a grown up putting her jewelry in it at the end of her school day. She actually slept with the jewelry box the night following her party. I only gave it 4 starts because the knob fell off the very day she unwrapped it for her birthday!

I ordered this box as a gift for my daughter. It is absolutely adorable in person, a perfect size for a little girl and was very sturdy. It would have been perfect, except that the design is paper that's glued onto the box, and on the box I received, the paper was worn off on the corners. It looked terrible and I was afraid the rest of it would peel off. I sent it back and won't be reordering it.

This is a very cute box and my daughter loves it. Ballerina works and music is cute (dont know what the song is). It's just disappointing that you cant find cloth coved boxes like they were 25 years ago. They lasted longer. (This is the 2nd she has had)

I choose to give it 5 stars- the box is so pretty the colors are very vibrant and glittery. My 6 year old loves it! It comes with Swan Lake tune, its a nice little box if you take care of it the box will last. I had a previous one before but it was cardboard with a plywood little drawer it was where you could not pull it out completely it had stops it was nicer but my child ( she was about 4ish ) just pulled the ballerina out, this box has the same drawer the difference is that the drawer is now made out of plastic and it come out easily it does not have stops, that is the only thing that the drawer might end up in her toys somewhere. Other than that its a good box for the price. My now 6 yr old promised to take good care of her little pretty box. I mean it is pretty and cute for a little girl. I would recommend this box for your little princess seeing the reaction of my princess!

We bought 3 different jewlery boxes for our three girls under 8. The Lenox Childhood Memories was so much nicer than the Mele brand boxes and much sturdier. Both Mele brand boxes already have rips at a couple of the joints in the just better than paper covering of the boxes the first few days, where the Lenox looks new still. The Lenox exterior is a thin but much sturdier and much nicer looking shiny metal. I'm feeling bad for our two girls that got the mele as the Lenox is hands down a better made and better looking product and wasn't much more expensive. I'm predicting the Mele boxes ready for thrash can by one year but the Lenox could easily last five years or more.

We got this for our daughter for Christmas, and she loves it. The dancing fairy does what she is supposed to, albeit she seems to require a lot of frequent winding. This box is really small, so don't think a large jewelery collection will fit in here - we had to buy necklace tree almost immediately. The exterior painting is sweet and pretty.

I bought this music box for my 6 year old niece and she fell in love with it immediately. She plays the music all day long to see the little ballerina twirl and stores her jewellery in it. I was at first concerned that after such an extended use the ballerina figurine would malfunction but im happy to report that it is still in the same perfect condition. The art on top of the box is done in a clean and detailed way and is beautiful. A tiny problem i noticed is sometimes the drawer doesnt close properly and sticks out a little bit on one side. Would I recommend buying it? Absolutely.

This is not the product that arrived. The one that arrived is the music box "Ashley" from the Melee site which is not as nice as this one and $20 rather that the price listed on Amazon. This is the first purchase I've ever been dissatisfied with from Amazon. Unfortunately, it was delivered directly to my granddaughter's home for her 4th birthday. What a disappointment!

Not happy at all, the jewel box was so cute when I opened it, gave it to my 4 year old granddaughter, who's birthday we missed because this gift arrived 7 days after it said the latest arrival should of been. Then my granddaughter opened the box and was so excited to see the little ballerina since she herself goes to dance class. She then closed the lid and went to open it again to show her mom and brothers and the ballerina had broken off right above the spring that it was inserted in. It didn't just come out of the spring, the plastic "peg" at the base of the ballerina actually broke right off. I was right there with her and at no time was she rough or doing something to it to cause the breakage. Needless to say I had a very sad little girl and feel I have been ripped off after spending the money I did in trying to buy her a special gift for her birthday. Will not be recommending you company or ordering anything further from you.

Very cute and well built. My grand daughter really liked it. Very very well packaged when shipped and it arrived before the date indicated. Would buy from them again.
