Q: Is this only the kit or does it include the activity pack in a CD?

There isn't a CD but there are several instruction booklets. The booklets don't talk much about the physics involved or the value of each simple machine though. The booklets focus on the building of each Lego creation. It is a fun and interesting toy.

Q: Could 6 kids work off this in addition to the classic Lego box?

I have 2 students work per kit, but that is without the classic lego box. I don't like to have more than 4 kids work on this specific lego kit at a time.

Q: Are there instructions to build sets? Or, is the design left to the builder?

Lego sets don't contain instructions to build. Usually, you need to buy some books (here in amazon) or maybe, take some courses.
