Purchased these for camping to lock things up if I leave camp. easy to pack light weight but seem to be very well made. Have worked well so far.

especially because they're plastic coated and black so they're not so obvious.

The cable seems fine. The carabiner clip though seems a little light weight. I'm not sure how much it would be able to hold. The problem wouldn't be holding a light should it fall, it's catching the light as it's falling and that initial jolt of stopping the drop. I don't think it would be a problem with my LED lighting as those lights are all under 10 lbs, but not sure about my halogen lights with the transformers built in. Hopefully we'll never need to find out, but I have the cable wrapped as many times around the truss as possible to limit the drop of the fall before the cable "catches" the lights.

Inexpensive safety cable. No reason not to install these as required with lighting fixtures. They will do the job.
