プラレール S-11 サウンドN700系新幹線

I think the previous reviewers don't know quite know what this train is in context. This is a Tomy imported N700 shinkansen (bullet train) from Japan. this is the sound series that has several phrases that you would hear if you were riding the train in Japan. It also changes the sound effects based on whether the train is traveling or coming to a stop. It speaks Japanese not Chinese, and yes the product is packaged in a box completely in Japanese because it is made for the Japanese market. That being said, I love these trains for my 2 year old, and they are great replicas of the N700 Shinkansen. I'm so glad to see these on Amazon I think I like it more than my kid!! Also note that these work with the Thomas the tank trackmaster track which will save you a lot of money on the Tomy track that you'd otherwise have to buy.

our toddler is obsessed with trains everything. we have a lot of thomas friends and we have wood and track master rails. this train is FAST! and it goes on both tracks. works best with master, and does not do too good with sharp turns, but i'm sure if you also get its native tracks, this will be even better. the car makes cool sounds, some announcement in japanese. highly recommend. nice quality. we adults are now obsessed also and want to get more...

Toy is great, the head of the train utilizes AAA batteries to power the motor, and one of the coach cars requires AA batteries to provide power for the train sound and SFX. The train makes sounds affects of the train and also notification in Japanese of what you would here when riding the actual Shinkansen. Great gift for 3+ and up. You will need to buy tracks for this is only the train itself.

My 3 y/o son is in love with trains. I don’t know how his passion started, maybe when I bought a Lionel train set in a Black Friday amazon sale. But since then, he has grown to love all types of trains. I was worried he would break my new toy, so I bought him a good starter Wood train ser from brio. Then in a trip I made to Taiwan I saw these brand at a department toy section store and saw the superb quality and at great prices. I bought a set and many additions to it. Whenever I make a long trip I try to buy him a train, so when coming back from this particular trip I gave him this new set and even I loved it. I (we) like it more than the brio. Since then I have bought Takara Tony train sets thru Amazon and our collection is growing. The quality is great, the price is better. The trains run in plastic tracks and they are fast.

This is a cool looking product and I know it's a reputable manufacturer, but it was impossible to install the batteries, which go in two separate locations. The instructions, written in Japanese, were useless. I figured out one section where I could get the batteries in, but the section powering the announcements were a fail. The screw sizes are the size of pinheads, and of course, no screwdriver is supplied. I got one of my screwdrivers from my tool chest and had no look. A waste of a purchase. Super disappointed.

My kids fight over this toy! We have a ton of blue track from Takara and we have a hard time finding the trains locally or any of the track. But thankfully Amazon carries the trains now and the track! My two-year-old calls this his Bluetooth you and I would highly recommend it to anybody. This train is fun for all ages and they are really tough and can withstand being ripped apart and thrown around.

Great replica! Wanted to have one for a birthday party and this was the only to get one when your not in Japan. However, would love to get JR line replicas as well
