Working as expected
We use these on the supply line for Bunn coffee makers and also to prevent buildup on HVAC misters, and they work perfectly.

Best filter in the market
This one is easy to use, and I like that it has 2 filtering materials to filter the water perfectly.I am using this same model for 3 years already. It's lifetime is 6 months so it is very affordable and durable compared to other less expensive filters, which last for less than that.

Installs quickly on TruSteam (2018: Carrier HUMXX) input lines
I bought this to replace the OEM model on my Honeywell TruSteam humidifier. (See 2018 update)Removal of the old filter is a three-handed operation without some technique. The collar around the 1/4 water lines needs to be depressed in order to release the tubing. I accomplished this by gripping the tubing with right hand and pressing down on the collar with the tip of the right thumb and index finger while gripping the filter with the left hand and pressing toward the tube to be removed. Once the collar is depressed, pull out with the other three fingers on the right hand and the tubing slides right off.Remember to remove the packing tubes from the new filter. Again, push down on the collar and pull out. There should be a vacuum release on the first tube since the activated carbon is shipped sealed. My installer had affixed the old filter with a strap to the bottom of a 2x8 rafter in the basement. I just loosened that and stuck this in its place and re-tightened. This filter weighs about a pound so it is recommended to secure it rather than hang it from the tube in mid-air.This filter is addressing an issue with slight odors from the cold water that are amplified when heated and turned into steam. The scaling removal should be equivalent to the Nu Calgon filter. The Omnipure line has several capacities (total gallons differ as all state 6-month lifetime). The 6 month rating is for the carbon filter in a drinking water application. For the humidifier I assume it can run until the scaling is no longer reduced or odors return, at least one season. The first few drops of liquid showed some leaking charcoal which is typical of filters I've used. Not dangerous at all (you can drink the charcoal water in dilute concentrations from new filters).I hope to update review when replacing filter.2018 Update:As anyone who owned a Honeywell TrueSteam knows first hand, it was a triple-play: design, engineering, and marketing disaster. I avoid everything Honeywell because of their treatment of TrueSteam customers- but I digress.I have a Carrier HUMXXSTM3134 now and use the Omnipure filters to extend the life of the ($90) disposable canisters. The initial canister lasted 6 months and today (27 December 2018) I just replaced both the canister and the filter. I read my own review for the procedure to replace the filter. Pulling the packing tubes re-familiarized the operation of the quick-connects.I will update again at the next filter replacement.

Works fine but don't expect a drop in TDS
Works fine but don't expect a drop in TDS; I measured it and it only lowered the TDS by about 10%.However It does remove the chlorine and the water has no taste after the filter.

Works as advertised
Works as advertised. Removed unwanted tastes from my water. Too bad it only lasts 6 months.

Absolutely fantastic for humidifier use.
Absolutely fantastic for humidifier use. I use this with my whole house humidifier. You have to change it every heating season. I've tried other "filters" most of them lack the carbon per-filter and are twice the money. At the end of the season there is still some build up, about the same amount you get in two weeks without this filter.

Works so far, which is a plus
Does not come with instructions - just be forewarned so if you’ve never used a filter like this before you might spend a few minutes trying to figure out how this all works. There are two rubber plugs at the end of each port, remove those and insert the 1/4” tubing until it resists and pull back to lock. Make sure the flow is correct and run the filter into a bucket for 10 mins to get the filter insides wet and the filtration action started. Then hookup your end line to your device. In my case I have been using this for a misting humidifier in my furnace to knockback the mineral buildup. There has been a decrease but I will know more at the end of the season.
