awesome case for tascam DR-07 MK2 and the DR-05
awesome case for tascam DR-07 MK2 and the DR-05, some tips, the foam is deep and has a layer of protection below the cut out foam, and its deep enough to put the tascam recorders in sideways, (i have 3 recorders in my case now) also, when you add a small tripod, the depth of the foam leaves plenty of room to add the usb cables on top of it, one more tip, save the blocks of foam you take out in case you want to change things around latter for a different item, putting the foam blocks back in isnt perfect as they are loose but it works well enough to still function like it should with protection and keep things in their place, truly its a awesome case for tascam field recorders, just wish i would of tried them sideways first instead of following the photos, but all is good, im real happy with this case

Good case for the price
I got this case to protect my Tascam DR40 and it seems to be nice and durable. The latches are really strong and easy to use, but the pick and pluck foam was a little tough for me in the beginning. Once I got the hang of it, it was no problem. Overall a nice case.

Cost effective and nice
This is a very cost effective case with easy to use pre-scored foam. I am using it for a hand-held audio recorder and its accessories.

It may be a lot smaller than you think
If I had wanted an internal dimensions of 11.0" x 7.00" x 2.25"I would have rated this 4 stars. In the description it measured 1 inch wider and longer and a bit deeper (12.0" x 9.5" x 3.5) than the case I'm using (case for 3 Samson R21 mics 11x3x8). in reality, the usable area is smaller (11.0" x 7.00" x 2.25"). It is deeper but only about a 1/4" longer because part of the size they measured is a rim that flares out from the main body. Also it is not as wide... functionally. The inside is partly consumed by the handle. While this was visible in the picture, it didn't sink in before I bought it.(I did not notice that it says - internal dimensions of 11.0" x 7.00" x 2.25".... I saw 12.0" x 9.5" x 3.5... but didn't pick up on it saying "External Outer Dimensions of the case are" )Was it my fault? Yes.The loss of space because of the handle is to me, dramatic. The functional space is less than my original case.See the "Samson R21 Dynamic Vocal Microphone - 3-Pack with Case"in the Samson case I carry a Tascam DR-40 4 channel digital recorder, an ATR-2100 mic, a Samson R21 mic, the ATR-2100 mic stand, 2 6' XLR cables, ATR-2100 compatible USB cord, camera tripod clamp mount to hold a smartphone, a wind muff for the built-in mics of the DR-40, a USB memory card, and ear buds.I cannot fit all that in this case. The closest I can come is to leave out 1 mic or leave out both XLR cables.I will be buying a different case. I'll keep it to avoid the hassle of sending it back.I just placed an order for the:Smatree® SmaCase G360 Large-Size Case for Gopro Hero 4/3+/3/2/1 and Accessories (13.4" X 9.4" X 3")- Travel & Household Case with Excellent Cut Foam Interior - Perfect Protection for Gopro Camera - Black & Red (Fits 2 to 4 Cameras)It's not a hard case (it is a firm case), but it is thick enough for me to add a thin layer of foam above and below the tascam, the rest is non-electronic. Now I should be able to add the extra/taller mic stand (Hamilton Nu-Era Tabletop Mic Stand)UPDATE:05/03/2017I stand by all I wrote above. The Smatree® SmaCase G360 worked out great. I no longer use it because I added more stuff to my studio. While I was using it it met my need beautifully. I loved the look of people as I took more and more stuff out... like felix's magic bag...I did find a good use for this case.I now use it to carry my class gun (I'm a firearms instructor). This is large enough to carry my gun and lots of ammo. It is a good solid case and should have a long useful life.I'm bumping this review up to a 4 from the 3 I originally gave itThe case is worth it (if this size is what you need - an internal dimensions of 11.0" x 7.00" x 2.25"),the description was slightly misleading.

Works well, very customizable, and seems durable
I bought this case to securely transport a Tascam DR-40x digital recorder and accessories. For that purpose, it works very well! Because the foam compartment is completely customizable, I would recommend laying all of the equipment/accessories you have out first and making sure you are positioning everything as efficiently as possible. Once you have removed the foam "cylinders" to house each component/accessory, it is possible to place the foam back in to reconfigure the setup, but it won't look as cohesive as it did before you removed the foam to begin with, so planning ahead is advised. The most important thing for me is that everything I needed to have fit in the case did, and I am pretty sure it would survive a drop and be well protected in such an event.

Perfect for AirSoft Elite Force 1911 Tac
The case was easy to customize and made a perfect little case to store an AirSoft Elite Force 1911 Tac pistol with all the accessories. Plenty of ways to arrange the foam padding, including using the removed sections for thickness as well.

Protects items well and surprisingly fits alot when organized well
So far so good. Took some time and planning to arrange the items the first time. I used chalk to outline each item and then plucked individually to fit. I use this for my Sony wireless transmitter kit (reciever and lapel mic transmitter), microphone and XLR transmitter, Tascam dr-40, adapters, chords and spare batteries.I had actually left this case on the roof of my car while packing other equipment and drove down the block and watched the case slide down the street next to me as I stopped at a stop sign and there was no damage to the stuff inside at all. Just some minor road rash scratches on the outside of the case from the cement. Case is still in great working condition after this. That's how I knew this was worth the price

Very Pleased! Easy to customize to fit what-you-may-have
Very Pleased! Easy to customize to fit what-you-may-have! I got perfect fits for my Tascam recorder, mini-tripod, spare batteries, with room for more. Following the instructions I got openings with very clean edges and good three dimensional fits. The internal cushioning and the outer case will protect the contents if it is dropped. The finish is a matte black so it is not obtrusive. Perfect for carrying and protecting my recorder when I go to the jazz club to record live music.
